It was due time i signed up here. With games like system shock 2 and deus ex being the greatest games the industry has ever produced (fact, yes?) i had to come and show my support. I am a young gamer and also primarily a console gamer, but use my PC only for legacy games and games inspired by LGS. It saddens me that developers these days do not want to live up to or surpass the design of the classics because they will not be big sellers, but i believe they can be a success. fallout: new vegas is the only decent modern successor to the legacy imo, and even that has hand holding and minimal simulation design, but it was a success.
oh and thanks to whoever made the ss2 tool. if it was not for you i would have never been able to experience ss2. definately my personal game of the year last year, and its 12 years old!

The SS2 tool was made by Kolya. He continues to maintain it so that we can all enjoy the game. It's only fair to point out however that he has compiled some very useful tools made by other fans so the highly effective tool is also the collective works of several other people as well. You should stop by SMA and do a little reading if it piques your interest.

And what would those games be? I'd like to see some examples. Your description screams "narrow-minded" to me though.

You know why they won't be big sellers? Too many "primarily a console gamer"s walking around. The intricate computer-RPG elements and the overall PC experience are crucial to the "legacy" status of SShock2 and Deus Ex.
