Sooo... how is it?
I didn't hear a word about it on the Internets. Arguably, Internet is not best place for opinions about books, but given how much publicity The Witcher got you'd think at least some of the fame would rub off.

I'm still waiting for the US release in may. I know it's been out in the UK for some time but I've been holding off on importing it since the shipping was twice as much as the book.

Too many people showed support for the The Witcher over in Gen Gaming so Koki has retreated to here in the hope of finding some people who rate the books poorly.

WHAT BOOKS? Is this a series related to The Witcher game?
Banksie on 21/2/2008 at 01:25
It is a series of short stories relating Geralts adventures prior to the events in the game. The translation is good and it is very readable but there is still a slight sense of something being missing. Several characters in the game refer to events in these stories most notably Dandelion and an elvish woman.
I quite enjoyed it as a read so I'd suggest picking it up. Most of the tales are slightly twisted parables where Geralt observes the foolishness of people and monsters alike. I am looking forward to further tales coming out in English.

Are you dethtoll's apprentice? Is this some kind of cult? Good lord.
I normally do not respond to stuff like this, but what the hell: I made the thread because I am curious as I consider the Witcher saga best fantasy I ever read. So I'm wondering how will it do in UK/USA against... Wheel of Time or whatever you guys are reading.
But I see it hasn't been released in USA yet, well that explains the general silence(brits don't read books har har).

I read a bit of the stories, when I was excited about The Witcher. They were alright. Analagous to bad vampire movie quality. Then I read dev diary about the nudey trading cards and was all "WTF?" then I heard a bad review. I don't think I'll get it, until I can get it dirt cheap, and that will only be to check out what they did with Aurora.
