And Subnautica is unquestionably an immersive sim, by virtue of wordplay.

Has anyone here played (
https://store.steampowered.com/app/652410/Brigand_Oaxaca/) Brigand: Oaxaca?
Quote:
Brigand: Oaxaca is a highly difficult post-apocalyptic RPG/FPS set in Mexico. Emphasis is on challenge, a branching story with multiple endings, and total freedom of action (kill friendly characters, rob stores, jump across rooves, etc.).
One steam reviewer describes it as "Crackhead Deus Ex". Also it's on -50% sale right now. Someone's gotta play it and report back!
not it

B:O is definitely interesting and definitely janky. It says something about the game that every Steam achievement except one is classed as "rare", since few people presumably do much more than launch it once. There's a constant feeling that you have to sort of work with the game in order to not break it, although 10 hours in I'm not sure anything has actually broken as such. There does seem to be multiple ways to accomplish tasks, and there are several factions that you can associate with which I guess can change how you do things, but I'm not sure how meaningful the differences are.
I do think it's a pretty interesting game to poke around in, but also a bit of a pain to actually play. Most of that is probably thanks to the fact that even though it looks like crap (which I'm fine with) it also runs like crap (which I'm less fine with), presumably due to some shortcoming of DarkBASIC. At any rate I'd say it's worth a few bucks for people with a high tolerance of low production values, and as it happens that's exactly what it costs, so there you go.
