Silly question just occurred to me... does the PS2 port of Deus Ex retain the... ahem... "happy couple" in the 'Ton Hotel?

Happy couple? That was a rape in progress :(

To quote a dear friend, "this thread is going places"

For some strange reason, I thought of GBM and Starrfall when I saw the thread title. Deus Ex General Discussion certainly isn't the place for such a thread.

I can't imagine why it wouldn't be in there, was any violence/language toned down for the console release?
ZylonBane on 22/11/2006 at 18:43
But remember what we dainty Americans have been taught-- SEX IS WORSE THAN VIOLENCE!
Jeshibu on 23/11/2006 at 00:08
Yes, but any censorship would be more likely Sony's fault than that of America.
I wonder if the level conversion was entirely automated. If it (by which I mean splitting the levels up into chunks the PS2 could handle) was all done by hand, I could see someone deleting it out of laziness, or because he just wanted to get rid of anything potentially controversial.
It's such a minor thing though. No one would have noticed.

It's been a while since I played it, but IIRC the levels were altered significantly to accomodate the PS2's limited technology rather then just dropping in loading zones, so I can't imagine it being done by anything but hand.
I've got it sitting about downstairs somewhere, but as I don't have any saved games for it, I'm reluctant to play up to Hell's Kitchen using the PS joypad. Something to do with being poked in the eyes with a badger or suchlike.
:edit:
Ok, I braved the badger poking as my own curiosity was piqued. I can't say about your other visits to the 'Ton, but when you first get there there there's a sound of static from an untuned telly from one door, a baby crying behind another and someone watch what sounds like football from the other.
No bed bouncing antics to be heard.
As an aside, violence seemed all there (Blood sprays from head shots and pools from corpses), though I should have taken the GEP from Paul to see if gibs remained.

I just checked-- in the PC version, they don't show up until the second time you visit the 'Ton, when you encounter the Rentons having their little argument about JoJo.
