I'd guess the reason this route isn't more popular with methheads is that you really do need to do it on an industrial scale, with yeast cultures in 100+ litre chemostat fermenters, followed by a shitload of purification steps (because yeast make a LOT of stuff, very little of which would be pseudoeph).
Buying a lot of over-the-counter meds is one thing, but when the scrawny scrotes with manky teeth start placing orders for industrial fermenters, it probably gives the game away..

Surely its the drug barons who make the drugs, the meth-addicts just pay for it? Or are people actually making drugs for their own consumption? I think the hard part of making meth would be purifying it to remove the very toxic chemicals used to dehydrate the starting material (and then safely disposing of the toxic waste.)
If you were doing it yourself you would hopefully realise that ingesting it would be a stupid idea if you didn't have a very well equipped lab.

I'm a chronic sinusitis sufferer and the first time I tried to buy the old kind of Tylenol Sinus I was surprised that you could only buy it at the Pharmacy counter and had to sign a bunch of stuff. Plus; you could only buy the stuff with Pseudoephedrine once a month (or I guess Something Bad would happen?). So I switched to the Tylenol Sinus meds without the offending drug and suffered in silence since they worked for shit. It took a long time before my system adapted and the new stuff had any effect and that's still minimal. I second d0om; Damn meth dealers ruining perfectly good drugs.

Anyway, you still need industrial fermenters, and they're not cheap, plus incredibly difficult to set up and maintain. Plus unlike 'assorted laboratory stuffs + some chemicals', they tend to be bought by easily recognized groups, so a sudden order for a bunch from "mystery people" would be suspicious to say the least.
Basically what I'm saying is setting up an entire dummy company just to make meth biochemically rather than setting up a dodgy meth lab to make it chemically...is impractical.

Dia - that's disgraceful! One pack only has 12 tablets in: enough for 3 days. If you can only buy one a month that's really bad.
Even if you buy one every month even when you are healthy, that's only 36 days a year of treatment.
I guess you need to get some friends who don't suffer from sinus problems to buy it whenever they can, and sell them on to you.
Pretty retarded limiting it like that, when you get a bad sinus problem you are going to want at least 7 days of drug (which is what the packet says you should take before seeing a doctor) rather than 3.
Maybe we should start a "write to your congressman / MP" campaign to get the unfair law repelled.
The drug deals could just grow emphedra plant and extract the (pseudo)ephedrine that way with some hydroponics cannabis-style if you really clamped down on pseudoephedrine anyway. Or just buy it directly from Indian factories and smuggle it in.

Ephedrine's legal in the states, it's just banned from dietary supplements, and hidden behind the counter with the Sudafed.
It's sold as Primatene (12mg) or Bronk-Aid (25mg) as an asthma medication (with Guaifenesin, unless you look for one of the more dodgy companies out there on the web).
That shit's better than cocaine when you need to stay awake and be productive. Or something.™ I wouldn't know, I don't do drugs. If I did do drugs, I'd probably tell you about the days when you could buy 100 50mg tabs for $7 at truck stops, and I was stupid enough to pop 5 at a time before going lifting, or 10 before a night out drinking.

You're allowed to purchase up to 7.5g of Pseudoephedrine during any 30 day period, irrespective of how many purchases it is. As long as you don't exceed the max, which, at 30/mg pill, is roughly 240 pills. (I've had a pharmacist tell me "I can only sell you one box" (of 30 pills), and I had to inform her that "No, actually, you can sell me up to 6 boxes, but, thankfully, I only want 2, so cough it up.")
Unless you're taking 8 pills a day
every single day, that should be way more than enough to get you through until your next fix.
