so the great houses were indoril, dagoth, "umm", hlaalu, telvanni, redoran?...
i've been trying to catch up on some history in the game (as i don't have much else to do in the game) and i know about the current houses of course and the 'unmourned' sixth house and nerevar's house idoril, but i'm confused about what the "ummm" house is :)....
Was is Almalexia's house, am i missing something obvious? I'm sure someone knows for definite, but it can't seem to be able to come up with it...
Maybe b/c i spend to much time on the bethseda forums answering nick-nack questions (help! where's the puzzle box) and i feel like my either a) my head will explode or b) i will have to lash out in a fit of anger! :erm:

Well, there's one reference to House Sotha, of which Sotha Sil is supposedly the last remaining member (in the description of Ald Sotha by Tholer Saryoni, IIRC).
There's also one more Great House that still exists but, like Indoril, doesn't have any land holdings on Morrowind... but its name escapes me.

that's the problem i'm having...i thought i understood the framework of the great houses until someone asked me to name them...that's where i drew the blank and came up with Almalexia's house (i knew it was either her or sotha sil) as i assumed nerevar's queen would have come from another great house...
so is that it? only the six houses?

I think there are seven, but (as I put above) I just can't remember the name of the other one. (Btw, as Nerevar was Indoril and [of course] was Almalexia's husband, she was likely Indoril as well)

Hrm... I'm pretty sure that's not the one; the Dwemer were another race altogether. (Yep, I know, some documents say "House Dwemer", but if you read them closely those ones appear to've been written in a more prosaic style [as opposed to a scholarly style])

i don't know about that though....the guy in the balmora fighter's guild says "seven houses...house dwemer..." and he is a supposed scholar....

So that's Telvanni, Hlaalu, Redoran, Indoril, Dagoth and Dres... And incase you are wondering, that's what the Daedric writing on the Morrowind box cover says (Around the edges.) :D
