Oh yeap thanks that's cool but I thought a steam:// link should actually launch steam, but at that page. What happens when you click my link?
Chimpy Chompy on 31/8/2011 at 12:30
Oh, I dunno, I don't have steam on this puter. I didn't realise steam:// from another browser would summon their own software!

It just launches Steam and doesn't do anything else, really.

Let's restrict ourselves to URLs for pages that can be viewed in a web browser, hmm?
It's hardly a detriment to the people who have Steam, and it's a complete pain in the arse to people who either don't, or are reading the thread on a PC that doesn't, and fancy taking advantage of a sale by purchasing from that same PC.

Plus, all that Steam could do would be to open it in its own internal browser anyway. That thing is awful, I don't think anyone would choose to use it over the real browser that they're viewing TTLG with.

If I'm playing a game, I would.

Also, (
http://isthereanydeal.com/) is so darn sensible a web page for game deals, there's just no way it'll last long (before it's either sued or acquired and ruined). But while it's there, it's darn sensible, and I endorse it heartily.
