For me, I don't listen to them when I'm out and about. However, as a backdrop when I'm working on something it can be good to have them in the background. Not all soundtracks work for me - some have a lot of very short tracks where they're only used to highlight incidental events in the game.

Oh, I don't listen to tunes while working on anything other than my engine. Even then, it is usually sports talk radio or just classic rock stations. I usually save music for when I can entirely focus on it, like when I am lifting or taking a long walk.

(http://www.g2play.net/) G2Play.net deals, should be good for the next ~17 hours.
- Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine Steam Key - 19.68 NZD - save 78%!
- The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Steam Key - 19.68 NZD - save 63%!
I believe it's for the next 22 hours or so in fact!
I picked up the Space Marine key now that it's so cheap but sadly the Witcher 2 keys are out of stock. :(

Score the recently released Flatout 3 for $10 USD, or the complete series pack for $13.59 USD.
Note that this is one of the €1=$1 games.

It's not pretentious, it's just got a really weird sense of humor.
