Oh yeah, Commandos was great. It was my first introduction to the idea of sneaking around enemies and killing them silently rather than just running up to them and shooting them in the face. I remember when I played Thief for the first time I though "holy shit, this is just like Commandos, but in first person!". The expansionpack and Commandos 2 were great fun as well. Only tried the demo of part 3, didn't like it.

Ah it sounds like it's definitely worth a try then.
The drm sounds a bit confusing from reading at (
http://www.getgamesgo.com/catalogue/game/commandos-complete) this site, not sure whether you'll be able to edit the files to get it running if there's problems, or at least the mod nameless voice mentioned.
Even if it turns out not to be a problem, the activation might be a bit annoying so i might just end up getting the boxed version for £10 instead.
Oh i spose i should also get the hitman equivalent too, considering i've never played any but am hearing they are quite non-linear in the multiple approaches you can take.

The 2k Sports baseball games are so heavily discounted for a reason. They have a reputation for being quite buggy and unpolished. Sony's MLB: The Show is reportedly the premier baseball series; but since they're a first party developed Sony titles, they're PS3 exclusive.
EDIT: But I'd imagine that there's a pretty active modding scene for the PC version, as there is with most PC sports games. The fanbase might be working on unofficial patches and the like.

As far as it's worked for me, you download the ~7 GB install file, then choose which game you want to install. After it's installed, the game needs to be activated once before you run it for the first time. Haven't tried any mods, but I don't see this being much of a problem.
Here's part of the spiel for the DRM from their support page:

How many times can I re-install my game?
Once you have unlocked the game you can install it as often as you like on the same computer system. If you change your computer system or your licence files are erased (perhaps due to a re-installation of Windows or a hard drive malfunction), you will need to unlock the software again.
If that's not something you want to contend with then, yeah, you probably want the retail version.

Ah, thanks for the info. Yer, i read the stuff on their site and it was kind of vague. Implied they usually used activemark but i'd never really heard of it before. Yes it's kind of weighing up the bother of faffing with some services account that i will only ever use for one game (probably) :D
I have other stuff to play at the moment anyway, but from what you guys have said, i will check out commandos somewhere down the line :)
So, whether boxed or from there, looks like i'll be trying it eventually.

Meh, no Multiplayer ruins that one for me. Zombie Driver is PERFECT for MP, and seriously misses out for not having it.
Oh, and I have Gothic II Gold. I also have a disc ver. of vanilla Gothic II, where the 3rd disc got ruined in a move. I have always wanted a copy of Gothic II without Night of the Raven. Well, Gamergate had it for $2.49!!! Thanks Ladron for the dragon week sale link. I am grateful.

I never really had any inclination to play Gothic 2 without NotR, considering how well they slotted the new content into the game. Though I heard that the English translation of NotR was meant to be awful (I played the German version with fan-made English subs).

You are so welcome. :)
I have Zombie Driver also. I played it for a bit a few months ago, applied an update and it got crashy crashy on me. Moved on to the next game and forgot about it. Graphics are slick, theres no depth to the gameplay but I never expected much. Drive n' shoot, pick up stranded survivors. Deliver them to the safehouse etc. etc. Pick up different ammo n' weapons, rockets, machine gun, flamethrower and blow the zombies to hell. I hope the dev has fixed all the update bugs by now.

Yeah, it is just a bit less 'hardcore'. I just wanted to have vanilla, as that is how I first played it, and the Learning Points and whatnot are unaltered. It is a MUCH more difficult game, and that says quite a bit considering the already high difficulty of the vanilla game. Like I said, I have Gold and will continue to play that, I just wanted a copy that gave me the option of playing without the add-on. Some early disc versions of Gold allow for this, but mine doesn't.
