The Great Bargain Deals Discussion thread. - by David

Damn, that sucks. You could have turned around and sold for $10 and made a nice profit on it, at the very least.

Yeah, I was pretty ticked off at myself. I guess that's what I get for ordering in the wee hours of the morning, though.
On the bright side, all of my games came at once yesterday. :) I think I can even play a couple of them on my computer, though I haven't tried yet (just read the boxes).

This is pretty cool, I just found a copy of "Fallout Trilogy," the first three Fallout games (1, 2, and Tactics) at my local Target for $4.
I figured it would probably just an ISO dump of all three games with the patches included if I were lucky, but I was pleasantly surprised:

(put this in discussion since the bargain is likely localized only to my neighborhood store)

Nice, I think I have the exact same thing, only I haven't opened it because I have the ISOs backed up elswhere. Nice to know it was a properly prepared compilation.

Actually, here's the weird thing: Instead of installing, then patching Fallout 1 or 2, it instead has fully zipped up installations of the games. That's right, it has a zipped install of Fallout 1 vanilla, a zipped install of Fallout 1 with the hires patch, and so on. The installer is basically an automated unzipper that also places shortcuts in the start menu.
What's missing, though, is a hires patch for Fallout 2. So it's close, but not quite, and you'll have to dumpster dive through NMA for that. Still not bad, either. Good effort.

I am waiting to try out Foreign Legion: Buckets of Blood that I got in the Steam sale. Thanks for the heads up on that one GBD thread.

I spotted (
http://www.getgamesgo.com/) GetGames a while ago, it's affiliated with the eurogamer.com site. I never listed anything from there, never want to lead anyone to a bad experience with unproven sites. Several titles on sale there at the moment. Let us know your experience with the site and if you see any deals in the future there list them in the other bargain thread.
Just bought a few games from the GamersGate sale. No problems. Fast servers too. :)

So is the $12 deal for all 3 Company of Heroes games worth it or should I just buy the original?

I would say Opposing Fronts is essential, especially if you want to play online. It has a reasonable SP campaign too. Tales of Valor was just a gimmick DLC thing if you already had the original

I went for the $2.50 deal for the Original only. I have never played it and I didn't want to drop any more coin on something I may never bother with past 6 hours. You may be more comfortable with RTS games, though.
