Hmmm. Lots of RAM, but the CPU and video 'card' (since it's a lappy) are iffy. Just for reference, are you able to play Unreal Engine 3-based games?
Enchantermon on 29/5/2010 at 23:53
The only one I've tried (according to Wikipedia's list) is Mirror's Edge and it was too choppy to play, even on the lowest settings. I can get good performance out of Bioshock, but that's Unreal 2.5.
EDIT: Just reconfirmed crappy performance of Mirror's Edge. I could get through the training, but it was choppy and ugly because I had to turn the resolution almost all the way down.

Sweet, just picked up Dawn of War 2 : Chaos Rising. Yay for Steam sales. Still need to finish my co-op campaign of the first game, though.

Is this worth getting? I've not got it but I've had my eye on it for a while.

Yes, yes, yes and yes. Although if you have Ps2, Gamecube or Xbox, it does play better there.

What about Sands of Time? It's also on sale.

FWIW, I played all three of the current GOG sale games on PC, and loved 'em. Lots of people have said they play better with a gamepad (and they may well be correct), but I didn't have any issues using the mouse + keyboard, so I don't think it's a huge deal. Still, if you're used to console controllers, I can imagine the gamepad being the most intuitive way to play.
BGE and POP:SOT both have tremendous production values, great atmosphere, slick gameplay, and are quite simply lots of fun.
(Psychonauts is brilliant as well, if not quite as polished in the gameplay department, but no one asked about that...)

I already have Psychonauts, which is why I didn't. It looks like I'll be picking up the other two as well, though.

I got my ninety cent copy of Two Worlds yesterday. GoGamer.com was a great experience, and I would buy from them again.
Enchantermon on 9/6/2010 at 19:11
I bought all of the ones I saw and the ones you suggested except for Two Worlds, because I was dumb and forgot to add it to the cart when I placed my order.
Should be getting one of them today, just not sure which one.
