I'm pretty sure that is an untouched shot.
I Googled it and it turns out you're right. Good God it's hideous. They had something really stylish but decided to fuck it up by adding some useless red Times New Roman text and turning the dot on the i into a moon. It's like whatever artist made it decided to let his 8 year old son put the finishing touches on it. :eww:

I liked Part II the best :D
When Michael finds out about Fredo's betrayel :sly:
"I know it was you Fredo. You broke my heart. You broke my heart."
Then sends him on a boat-ride. :ebil:

This is definitively not nice :nono: It's the only part that I don't like of the saga. If he should be really his brother, he would have forgive him, instead of making killing him. So much so the Godfather regretted in the third part, and confessed his sins, with this, to the cardinal who will be pope.

Forgiveness is not the Sicilian way.

Ugh.. Why do some people insist on putting their own values on characters in films and then expect those characters to act accordingly and when they don't they see it as a failing in the film? Michael's actions are completely consistant with his character. Would I kill my own brother? Hell no, but I certainly feel that Michael would and that's the way it should be. Too many films betray their characters in order to have a happy ending/villanise one to set up conflict etc.
Anyway I voted for Part II but I will be honest and say I'm not the big fan of these films. I like them for sure, except Part III which really is mediocre and comits that sin of 'character betrayal' I mentioned above, but I've never seen in them what many others do. I'm sure this is due to my preference for tightly focused character studies over multi-character sagas (tellingly my favourite Coppola film by far is
The Converstation) though because I can certainly see that they are beuatifully shot/acted etc.

I didn't put anything from my values in the film, I hope it's clear. I'm not telling that action is good or bad. I just said that I was repulsed by that action. For the rest, the director can do everything, that's not my businness.

Of what character betrayal you meant?
@ EvaUnit02: said to an italian by a New Zealandese... :laff: Yes Sicilian didn't fogives, EXCEPT in family. Inform yourself about the family sense of the Sicilian people: is very, very strong! And in the movie is well evidenced. So much so Michael also said that "he's done everything in the meaning to protect the Family".
