What i want to know is why do atheists always want to talk about God?
I'm an athiest (a lot of the time - depends on my mood) and I rarely bring up god, and if I do it's not in any sort of "let's have a debate!" context. And there's a reason for that - when there's a debate, many seemingly intelligent people (on both sides of the fence) come out and make complete retards of themselves, and I'd rather just not see it.
Less label-slapping, please.

yeah sorry, I was just illustrating the point that why should Dawkins care about God?

It also always seem ridiculous that evolution is brought into these debates; God is not at the top of a pyramid of evoulution, he is separate and alone outside of what he has created; God does not exist, he is eternal. Evolution can easily be explained as it being the will of a creator God.

I won't go into it here since everyone is sick of my lecturing on this subject...
I'll go out on a limb here and suggest that maybe we aren't as sick of your lecturing as we are of people cherrypicking points of contention and saying "aHA".

Twinkies can also be explained as the result of a creator God, but I assure you they were invented in 1930 by an American called James Dewar.

But evolution can more easily and rationally be explained in the absence of God.
So far as why should Dawkins care about God - he's an educator, so it's in his interests to see people abandon superstition and adopt reason, logic and rational thinking instead.

yeah i know, but evolution does not exclude god, which is what is often proposed, and the theory of evolution is slightly flawed; why do many animals display altruism?
Gingerbread Man on 13/1/2007 at 18:05
They don't. They display socially-adaptive, though still entirely self-serving, behaviour. Same as we do.
Christ, this is going to turn into a second-year lecture on evolutionary psych, isn't it? Well, it won't be me who does it this time.
Martlet on 13/1/2007 at 18:06
have animals never sacrificed themselves for their children or found food for their offspring?
socially adaptive is altruistic
