Australian overturns 15 years of nano-science doctrine

An Australian mathematician has thrown 15 years of accepted scientific practice out the window by discovering a design flaw in a key component of the Atomic Force Microscope.
His finding will force a rethink into the design and use of an instrument that has become a cornerstone of scientific measurement and analysis.

Wow - that really is something!
I hadn't heard about this untill I just read it here.
Hmmm - wonder how much we can rely on the measurements made this far! I've been working with an AFM something like two years ago - using "of course" V-shaped microcantilevers... :(

Good luck with that! :laff: That might actually be possible someday... Not today - or tomorrow - but someday! Fiberglass cables could be utilized to "bend" the light around a person - thus making you see what is on the other side...
