Sorry I'm so late, but I just got the demo a couple of days ago... and yeah, I can face it, I'm here just to rave... I made it into the almost full, yet unreleased Level 2 !!! (courtesy of Ziusudra's method, of course...)
Anyway, the level is very nice. I just dont understand why wasn't it included in the demo. It would've made more sense, too, since going from level 3 straight to level 1 just doesn't compute right... There's plenty of new stuff, like a backpack, a magic sword and new runes, which implies new spells. Its somewhat small though, but there is a very unfinished passage (i.e. it just ends in darkness), which is good (er, for now, i mean ;) )
Now, for the (yet unmentioned) bugs(are u here Raf ? :) ) The three Big Bad Spiders in the, er, three spiders' area just disappear through the floor down that corridor (this is good btw, since they are TOUGH). Also, they will follow me over the ledge and fall down, when I levitate (scroll only btw, not spell). And you can pretty much use friction un vertical walls to get down without taking any damage, and if the wall is just a bit less vertical, you can usually climb it up, too !
Now what I didn't do: never finished the troll's quest. Can anyone help me ? Or you simply can't ?
I will answer questions/change impressions. The level is just as big as the accesible area I think, and playing it made me really enjoy the game. I think Arx is great. Cya.

You can get in at the fireplace (well, sort of, is more like a grill/oven) in the torture chambers' back room. It's very easy, no problem getting in at all. The real problem is the locked door to the aforementioned room. The key to the door is in a chest in a secret room which connects to the room next to the exit to Level 1 (pretty obvious secret, the button is on the wall, big and white) ; anyway, you can access the chest through the wall (from the black zone) if you're on the same level or underneath it. And yeah I was actually looking forward to people asking me this... ;)
Btw, this level of exploration pretty much reminds me of Unwelcome Guest... aah, the sweet old days...

Oh, that. Okay. First, get out and kill the goblin. Then take the bench (incidentally, it's the only thing that supports my weight - I mean, if i jump on chairs or bricks, i just fall right through them ; might be different for you). Now go to a corner and stick the bench in mid-air; it's okay if part of the bench is stuck in the wall. The next part was already explained: first crouch and jump on the bench, then crouch and jump again while facing and hugging the wall (you might need to do the two jumps in a fast succesion). Now your head should stick through the wall and you'll see some darkness. Release the crouch and, if you still don't fall back, take a few steps back without turning. You should end up "on top" of the level. You can pretty much see/hear everything, but it's kinda hard to get back in ; read my other post. Oh and don't use the stair icon to change levels, since it doesn't lead anywhere new, and you can't get back afterwards. Have fun !

Sucks to be you.

The way I got through is putting the bench on the table so that it hangs over slightly towards the wall. Then I jump up onto the table and bench, and then walk out to the end of the bench, so I'm hanging over the edge while standing on it. Then I just jumped forward and that got me past the wall.

Ok. I with my feet on the ground of rest of Level1 (goblin prison). All subsystem work fine -- I quit from "dark zone:eek:". I found that oven/grill/fireplace in back room of torture room. But how from this fireplace get to Level2 ? Its not so easy as you wrote:
