Ali had ancestral ties to my home town of Ennis, here in Ireland. His Great Grandfather Abe Grady ( O'Grady) was born in the Co Clare market town. Abe eventually emigrated to the U.S (among countless thousands) and settled in Kentucky.
There was one hell of a party in the Banner county when Ali visited his ancestral home back in 2009!
He will always be revered in Ennis, and lovingly referred to as "one of our own".
