The Fighting TTLGers present: Arma 3 (a TTLG Coop Saturdays spin-off) - by Thirith

Small session today with demagogue and Al_B. I wasn't sure at first if we should proceed, since Arma doesn't always work well with groups this small, unless the missions are designed specifically for this kind of thing. However, apart from minor problems blowing up some weapons caches it worked well: we first protected a convoy on Malden from attacking Russians, followed by looking for the aforementioned weapons caches in a Takistani village. The latter was more difficult and we almost got taken out by a military jeep with a machine gun on its back, but luckily I found an RPG lying around (one of the AI squad members had dropped it when he died) and, channeling my inner henke, blew up the enemy jeep. Still, there were a bunch of sharpshooters in dem dere hills, and they almost got the better of us, but we succeeded. Then we tried to use incendiary grenades to blow up the caches and didn't do particularly well... but after wasting a lot of ammo of various kinds, we still completed the mission and got picked up and taken to base by a friendly chopper. Hooray!
I'm not sure yet when the next session will be, but most likely it'll be in three weeks, on 9 October, as I'll be away for a week in between. As always, I'll confirm here and via Steam messages when the next game'll be.

Tonight's session didn't happen, since we weren't enough for a good game (there may be coop missions that work okay with two players only, but generally Arma needs at least three people to work well in coop, in particular with the mods we're using). I'll probably plan another session for Sat 23 October, but I'll confirm at a later time, as usually.

I really mean to come and play with you again but then something else always happens on Saturdays, next time I'll be out of the country but I'm really down for some Arma soon. I've been looking at the Vietnam CDLC and the maps look really fun, if several TTLGers have it, we could do the coop campaign.

It'd definitely be cool for you to join in again! I understand that Saturdays are difficult for some, but I'm crossing my fingers that you'll be around for one of the sessions before long.

Just finished a fun session with Demagogue, Jeshibu and Malf. We had some tech problems at the beginning that kept Dema from playing the first mission, but other than that we had a good time, first raiding a PMC camp in Lythium, then rescuing a hostage (only to have him get blown up by a grenade) on Tanoa, and ending in wintry Chernarus, clearing Elektrogorsk. I died a hell of a lot, but it was good playing with the gang again.
I'll probably do another session in two weeks, as usual, but I'll confirm in a day or two and I'll send around the usual round of Steam messages.

Times flies when there's still a pandemic going on...
