The Fighting TTLGers present: Arma 3 (a TTLG Coop Saturdays spin-off) - by Thirith

Just spent a fun 2+ hours playing with henke, Jeshibu and Malf. Mission's Insurgency Takistan, a new one for us, which had us clear sectors of, well, insurgents. Plenty of interesting wrinkles in this one, from IEDs (the first one left me completely unscathed, but afterwards they did plenty of damage, taking out a vehicle or two) to suicide bombers. What I especially liked: no big numbers of enemies and bigass hardware, which tend to make a mission meatgrindery, but more small groups of guerilla fighters with trucks, machine gun emplacements and the like. Might definitely play this one again! Thanks to the gang, as always.
Next game probably in two weeks, but I'll confirm here and on Steam before then. Also, no videos for the moment, since I just don't have the time to edit 'em.

Fun small session today, with demagogue, henke and Malf. We played three missions: Let's Stand - Compound, where we defended a compound against waves of enemies, and Malf was the only one who survived Wave 2, then Combat Den: Lythium, in which we cleared some enemy emplacements in an Afghanistan-style environment, and Combat Den: Chernarus, where we did the same thing, but in the autumnal woods. The latter was a bit unfair because of the age-old foliage thing (enemies can see through leaves, even if Bohemia says they can't, and we can't), but it was still nice to have a small, tight group, simple objectives and a nice back-and-forth of combat.
Planning to run another session in two weeks, but as always I'll confirm here and via Steam messages.

In spite of a bit of an iffy start and an anticlimactic finish, we had a fun session, playing a dynamically generated TRGM2 mission on Sahrani. First mission, we had to find an informant, but resistance was tough and we all went down. After we all respawned, we headed for the second mission objective, where we had to take out an enemy officer, which we managed, in spite of snipers in the hills and an armored vehicle patrolling nearby. Finally we went to rescue a POW - which would've gone well, since we found him well and alive, except he followed us to the helicopter but then didn't want to get in. So we went back to base and opened fire on each other. My final memory of today: blowing up Malf in an AH64.
Thanks to Demagogue, henke, Jeshibu and Malf for a fun session! More to come in two weeks, probably - will confirm later, as always.

Tonight's session was a good one! :)

Yeah, I enjoyed it too, especially the approaches to the second and third objective. Your landing on the only part of that incline where a landing was possible, for instance, and the bit towards the end where you took out the Shilka while Malf (or was it Jesh?) took out the mortar guy.
General question to the gang: are there certain types of scenarios and/or specific maps you like that I'm not doing oats often as you'd like? If so, let me know so I can add them to the mix more often.

Very nice session today with dema, henke, Jeshibu and Malf. We started off in Fallujah, where we had to rescue a journalist, then take out a mortar emplacement and finally clear an area, all the while fighting a PMC. Problem with the journalist: the helicopter that was supposed to get him out couldn't land, so we ended up having to take him along. The battle was brutal at first, and at some point most of us were down, but then things changed - not least because at some point we had henke and Jeshibu go alongside the rest of us in the HUMVEE, pelting the PMC units with their grenade launcher. We sadly lost the journalist towards the end, for reasons better left unmentioned, but it was still a resounding win. We started the mission at 3am in the dark, using our nightvision goggles, and as we returned to base the sun was just rising, which was a lovely touch.
We then decided to do a quick camp raid on Sahrani (the Arma 1 map), and the attack went well, but then I went down, followed by henke losing connection - and finally Arma told us that we'd failed the mission because the intel we were supposed to grab had been destroyed by the enemy. Boo, but still: good game all round!
I'm hoping to do another session in two weeks but will confirm here and on Steam, as always. Thanks to everyone who joined!
