He also provided some sensible holodeck stories. No repetitive, predictable malfunction plots that ended with Genghis Khan and Evil Lincoln rampaging the station. The characters just used the holodeck like real people would: to take someone out on a date, or convalesce after losing a leg in the bloody huge goddamn war raging not very far away.

Difference of opinion, then, I guess. I hated him. The episodes centred around him felt like bizarre filler totally meaningless and disconnected from the storyline. They were the only three episodes of DS9 that I couldn't bear to watch fully. The third one I just skipped completely.
The first episodes centred completely around him put me off watching any more DS9 for weeks.

Well I for one am very excited about this new movie.
The trailer is a work of genius and you've got to give kudos to JJ Abrams for what he's done thus far.
Incidentally, the music playing in the trailer3 (and i think in all of them) is a wonderful track called "Freedom Fighters" by Two Steps From Hell, who are also a very very good band...

Oh come on - even you have to admit that it looks good. The way it's put together to tease. Ignoring the fact that it's for Star Trek - it is an extremely well put together trailer.

It looks like the penis of an albino horse.

Anyone actually saw this movie? Or is it just wild guessing and one hit jokes?

Maybe if you like 2 minutes worth of lens flare and Michael Bay-esque stupidity.
