Life just aint fair. Star Trek gets dozens of sequels and series and Conan got The Destroyer which did just that. The Barbarian was a perfect movie. Crom damn it.

They're remaking it too. :(
Supposedly with Brett "Rush Hour" Ratner attached. :( :( :(
Tocky on 21/11/2008 at 04:34
Why? The original director understood. The character. Every damn camera angle. The story. THE STORY.
No. Just no. When will they understand if you don't feel it then it's shit.
Wait. What does Brett do? And did John Milius direct that crap second one?
Muzman on 21/11/2008 at 04:41
Ratner takes quite interesting scenarios, stunts and actors and then shoots them in the most boring, yet expensive, way imaginable.
He's kinda like Kevin Smith plus money and minus dick and Star Wars jokes.

Oh hell. Remember how beautiful the Pamplona sun was slanting through the trees during the village raid? The visceral feel of snow against skin as dogs opened arteries. How the cold would make each breath a living thing? The sway of a steel blade in the earth? The grit of stone beneath fingers?
I see CGI and lack of depth in scenery and character.:(

I'm not the biggest fan of the original Conan, Milius is pretty clunky director in my book, but it's a pretty fantastic looking film in terms of set design. I shudder to think what we'll end up with with Ratner behind the camera.
Also, the real captain Kirk is (

What about the Voyager episode where he's trying to court Janeway?
I was referring to TNG. Didn't know he came back in Voyager, but then, two episodes of
that series was enough to turn me off Trek for 5 years.

I must protest, sir. I am NOT a merry man.

He was worse in DS9; Q didn't really fit the tone at all and was packed away to Voyager after one appearance.

Yeah, that episode was a little weird.
Bringing back Vash didn't help.
