Looking on Wikipedia, The Fall was made on Unity, and I doubt Eidos would've gone through the trouble to port the content back to Crystal for the PC. It's more likely a straight redeployment to Windows, with reworked controls and maybe some higher fidelity assets. Hopefully they'll have consolidated the maps together into fewer, larger levels. Not knocking Unity, mind, worked on it at my previous job.
Probably gonna get this. I don't have huge expectations of a port from mobile, but could be good.

At the very least it'll be easier to play. I never finished it on my iPad because I very quickly found out that touchscreen controls suck ass for performing precise multipart actions in anything but a point 'n click setup.

It was very well received... for a mobile game.
Whether that means it was actually good, or just better than the rest of the shovelware trash that comes out on mobile, who knows. :p

Huh, I had always heard good things about it. Other than the whole "suddenly ends with no indication of a second chapter as of yet" bit.

It's not a terrible game at all. The story seemed interesting, it had a number of cool characters, and I liked the setting. The only problem I had with it was that it was just too damn hard to control.
For exploring the environment, touch controls are fine. But the moment you get into a fight...nuh uh. It falls apart.

Getting into fights in a Deus Ex game? You're doing it wrong.Looking forward to this game. It looked great but I'm not allowed to buy games on my phone (#justminorthings >_<), and besides, it is not fun to play an in-depth story-based game on a 2-inch touchscreen. I'll wait for the reviews. My predictions? Fairly good for a mobile-to-PC port, an ok Deus Ex game, but buggy and with some balancing issues.

I agree with you when it comes to smartphones, but tablets, which is what I tend to focus on when talking about mobile games, work just fine.
Like I found Baldur's Gate and XCOM to be a great fit for iPad. In fact, if mobile XCOM had the graphic fidelity of its bigger brothers, it'd probably be my preferred platform to play it on.

My impressions of it so far aren't great. It's pretty clearly a quick mobile port, no control or video options, etc. The inventory and upgrade menus are meh, just a list of every object in the game and whether you have one or not and if not then an option to buy one. I'm going to assume that was where the monetization stuff in the mobile version was handled. I'll probably finish it to see the links to the previous games as even early on it has a pile of old characters in it, but the gameplay and technical stuff is kind of disappointing. Then again, it's a cheap mobile port so YMMV.

I wouldn't hold my breath. It looks similar on the surface, but the mobile version of DX is actually very simplified. For instance there aren't really any physics-objects. Bodies don't ragdoll, crates and barrels are bolted to the ground. If they ported it to PC it would be an underwhelming experience for gamers used to Human Revolution. They could of course take the assets over to the proper engine and remake it but that'd probably be too much work to be worth it.
Well I mean I predicted that it would end up being underwhelming for PC gamers. What I did
not predict is that this wouldn't be sufficient reason for Squeenix not to port it. I'm sure they'll make back the money it cost to port it over, but doesn't this kind of thing just cheapen the brand? In the end, was it worth it, Squeenix? WAS IT WORTH IT?
