This is a bizarre situation. The English Defence League is a new movement in, err, England that has been in the news recently. Its so strange I don't quite know what to make of it.
(
http://www.englishdefenceleague.org/index.html)
They seem to have formed in response to a few noteworthy events that have taken place here, mostly Islamic protesters attending homecomings of British Troops from Iraq/Afghanistan, and a planned attendance (I don't think it happened) by the same Islamic group at the return of the bodies of soldiers.
The EDL's primary mission statement is the removal of radical anti-Western Islamists from this country.
The EDL claim to by multi-ethnic, multi-racial, non-political and yet are still labeled by much of the media as a right-wing group. Members that have taken part in protests (that have frequently had police intervention) seem to actually be from a range of ethnic backgrounds. Now the Muslim Council of England has complained to the government stating that not enough has been done to stifle the actions of the EDL.
I'm most confused. Are they are going to end up being another BNP? Do they have a legit cause? And given their message (albeit on a really crappy website :p ) why is the Muslim Council getting involved?
England, My England!
100 points if you know where that is from no cheating

Isn't that the title of a movie from the 90's?

Purcell
(or Lawrence)
Do they have a legit cause?
Do you let people use the freedoms that you offer to argue against those same freedoms?
I don't know, I really don't know.
On balance though I say no, you can't compromise.

They wear the logo of the Templar Knights, I don't like the looks of this. England needs to put a lid on political correctness because it has gotten way out of hand. Shouldn't be so surprised by it's multi-ethnic composition, that is no different for our PVV (Wilder's party), a lot of voters are Indonesians (Wilders is half-indonesian) and Malacu's, but also a lot of Suri's and liberal muslims.

They wanted to march with coffins to ask attention for civilian casualty's where usually parades are held for killed soldiers. I think that should be allowed, it's highly provocative but everybody has the right to demonstrate.

I think calling it "English" is already a little divisive, it should be about Britain if anything.

Don't look at us, we're too busy handbagging each other over devolution of Policing and Justice to get involved.

Looks like a friendly enough bunch. Did their daddy never teach them that pouring gasoline out of a jerry-can over open fire is a bad idea even if it involves burning swastika's. The UK, well labour, owes clowns like this to their selves though, 'rubbing diversity in the noses of the right', well diversity failed and people will have to make the best out of it, hopefully for the British without labour before they invent a device that can monitor doubt about bending over as deeply as you can for a hardcore session of sala-fistfucking.

Nice to see you're as good at politics as you are at climate science, at least.
