So the end of System Shock 2 is an interesting one. I've heard rumors of rushed production and such but lets assume that this was the REAL ending the developers wanted.
What do you think happened? Well obviously something is wrong with Rebecca. We hear from an audio log that she was hurt (I believe), and we see her and her lover escape in one of the last escape pods.
We, as the player, shoot SHODAN. She "dies." And then as the scene goes on we are given a situation. Has Rebecca turned into SHODAN? Did the wounds she recieve allow a piece of SHODAN to enter her?
Hmmm, good or bad, the ending of System Shock 2 was definately interesting. What are your thoughts?

The ending gives good reason for a sequel, that is my take on it.
The way I see how it progresses: The Shodanified Rebecca kills Tommy, takes control over the shuttle and returns to the Von Braun. (Shodan is back in da ship baby!)
I haven't thought it further but I imagine she'll have some jobs for our hero, Goggles, or a fate...

Earth? Screw Earth. She'd go back to the VB, find a way to take care of Goggles, and make REALITY her throne.

SHODAN would head back to Tau Ceti V, land near the crashed Beta Grove, and rebuild Citadel station using the parts and technology crashed on the surface.

Obviously, since the ending of SS2 is so god-awfully absurd and ridiculous, it was just a red herring by SHODAN, distracting Goggles while she Zerg-infests Rebecca.
Then again, that part is sort of a stretch anyway.
I love the SS series, but they would REALLY need to retcon the ending of the second game to Hell and back in order to do it justice.

I think she'll get back to the VB ,sit down make a service droid make her a cup of tea and than she'll invite our friend "G" for a walk thourgh the gardens:D
