The Dwarf-mine Monster. - by Orgone Accumulator

I'm not so much asking for help, as just venting. This is probably one of the creepiest scenarios i've encountered in a game for a long time - some invincible fiendish grinning monster hunting you down in an abandoned mine. :o
I wouldn't mind so much re-loading my game in order to find out where to go, it's just that it takes 3 whole minutes for me to load anything in Arx ... quickloading, level loading, everything.
I'm at the point just after the beginning, where you jump across those platforms-over-lava, and then pass a locked door down to a dead end with a dwarf corpse, who has some sort of key on him. Of course, when you turn around, that creepy monster is waiting for you at the end of the corridor. Now i assume this key unlocks the door that's five feet in front of this advancing instant-kill creature, but i inevitably get clawed to death while fumbling through 3 pages of inventory to try the key on the door.
gwrraarrrrr. Gonna go try again.

I'm sorry???

Will that creature die? I passed him up so he was waiting for me near the stairs, but then the game made him vanish. (bug?) I have never seen him again.
BTW, how do you make a key from the key impression in the forge? I have the impression, 2 metal bars and a gold bar. I still can't figure it out. Thanks in advance... :thumb:

From what i read in another post Frak, it seems the solution to the problem this monster creates involves a puzzle, rather than combat. Not sure if that means he's killable.
I made it through the door abovementioned, but now i'm stuck on a platform while this thing is sitting down below waiting for me. I made a run for it, but i ended up at a dead-end and was subsequently mauled to death. This is great fun, but there's only so many 3-minute-long-loading-screens i can take. :erg:

i had trouble at this part aswell here is there solution down below.
Get some dwarf flesh from a dead dwarf corpse and also get a power crystal.
Have the beast follow you into the room where theres a ladder leading up to a platform.
Underneath the platform is a machine, insert the power cell into the machine and run back up the ladder as fast as you can. Then chuck some flesh under which looks like some kind of rock crusher the beast will go under it and then run to the switch and bam the beast is knocked out for a short time only.Go down the nearby hall and the beast will appear have the beast follow into the same room which you knocked him out in.There is a switch next to a mesh kinda thing, hit the switch. It opens up a lava pit and the beast will come to you and fall into the pit then hes dead you wont see it again.
BTW
where is this key mold ive read it opens up the bank in Arx

One thing that I think you missed, Ibundi, is to toggle the switch in the side room off the piston room; IIRC, that unlocks the pit's switch.

I don't think it's the same monster. I hit him with the crusher and I think he exploded, leaving some dwarf parts behind. Then when you go back into the hall I think a NEW one comes out at you. This is the one you kill in the lava.

He disappeared when i thwacked him, too. All that was left down there was Dwarf gibs. I just assumed we were supposed to believe that he got smushed right through the floor and into a room below.

Odd... for me, if I left the room (that aorementioned side-room) and came back in, he was up and awake and snarling at me - but thankfully trapped under the piston. If I wandered around the room, he eventually fell thru the floor.
