I didn't want to start a thread on this, so I'm posting my question here. Whenever I try to download inverted manse, and the download autostarts, it pops up and doesn't ask me whether I want to save or open the file. It just pops up and the little paper goes from the globe to my computer thingy, but no files are being downloaded. It has no "time left" or "size of file" estimates, but it jsut says getting file information. Why?:( :( :(

While not starting a new thread is noble and all, this is A. The wrong forum, and B. The wrong thread (unless someone added an FM database to The Dromesday Book while I was looking the other way). Telliamed doesn't even have anything to do with any of the popular sites that host FMs.

I figured out what was wrong with it.
New users were being put into a group called 'user', which was supposed to have permission to create and modify pages, but it turns out that telliamed accidentally named the group 'user
s' when he created the permission. It should be fixed now.
/me hits his testers on the head with a Where-Were-You-When-I-Needed-You mallet.
But this is what you have admin access for. I recently added the pagemove plugin too, so you can correct the misspelling of your page. (Let me know if you see any other plugins you think would be useful.)

I'm working on a plot synopsis for T2. I have rough text up to LOTP at the moment. In a week or so I should have each mission summarized and ready to submit.:D I plan to do Thief Gold as well when I can get around to it.
Wiki's love rough text. You're not supposed to wait until it's "ready".

I don't know if your organization as it stands encourages this, but what about a section where people may post opinion columns or monologues about Thief mission design concepts or principals, which doesn't necessarily have anything to do with dromed
Designing with Dromed isn't all about using the editor. Textures, sounds, creating custom scripts... At least 30% of any FM is going to take place outside of Dromed.
So a "professional opinion" would be okay, but don't drift into "personal opinion". i.e. The difference between knowledge gained through experience, versus just spouting-off. Think of "The Society of Thieves" as a [respectable] trade journal. If it's not appropriate for peer-review, don't post it.
(Then again, I just saw on the AIA home page a link to a book about Feng Shui ... ugh. So much for credibility.)
News articles are right-out. As are descriptions of specific projects (other than being referenced in a more general article). But you can put whatever you want in your personal page (society:your_name), just don't hoarde disk space.

Dear Goddess, I hope not! My poor hosting plan isn't nearly good enough for that.

Well, not necessarily. Jason is hosting my scripts, DarkLoader, and a personal page. Thiefmissions.com is more permanent than whoopdedo.org which depends on me being able to pay the bills on-time.
(That reminds me, I need to install a feature to download the entire wiki in a ZIP archive.)

The line between those can be pretty fuzzy. Anything related to game design that doesn't deal directly with the facts of how the editor works will be personal opinion, no matter how professional stated or backed up with experience.

This on the other hand is a much more clear guideline. I.e. posts should not be soapboxes for one person to babble on about how they think they should be done, each should be open forums for editing and contribution by any number of others. If a post can't belong to anyone, it shouldn't be posted.

I would have never considered either of those appropriate. Don't worry.

Oh dear, I slipped into architalk didn't I. I need to spend more time <i>asleep</i> in theory class.
and LOL @ AIA + Feng Shui

Thank you, yes. In fact, there should be a page referencing "legacy" documentation. Specifically, the things created by LGS. (Perhaps with an explanation of the Dromed license and how/why Dromed was eventually released to the community.)

Your account appears to have been created.
Did you look in your hotmail junkmail for the registration email?
If you're still having trouble, I can reset your password for you.
Telliamed on 29/11/2006 at 01:24
I need to add a note about the registration mail getting junked. Either that or convince the spammers to stop using "@whoopdedo.org" in their fake addresses.
(Should I wish for "peace on earth, good will toward men" while I'm at it?)

Sure enough, sitting right there in junk.:p
And I thought Master Gates was lookin out for me:eww:
