:D Congratulations, I hope it didn't hurt too much.
Could you post links to the other mentions? I've only seen the one in Thelvyn's post (Phoronix?).
Looks like the TDM servers have been overwhelmed once again, this time thanks to the slashdot article. Wow.

Here's a link to the thread with all the links in the first post. I will edit this later with the specific links if needed.

Until it calms down a bit here is another option for people to use, that bypasses the slower mirrors and the need to download the tdm_mirrors.txt file from the already swamped darkmod.com server.
* Download the attached file and save the following file to the root of the Darkmod folder, over-writing the one there already.
* Run the tdm_update.exe and on the main windows click on "advanced options"
* Then click on "dont search for new mirrors" and then click save.
* Then click on "continue"
* If your updating from an earlier version of TDM, you need to check the "dont search for new mirrors" once again, after 'tdm_update.exe' updates itself and restarts.mack sure to do steps 2-4 again.
* Please note the manual mirrors list wont work when you want to download mission's, you need to replace the "tdm_mirrors.txt" file with the default one - see attached.
- see the screenshot below for steps 2-4.
Manual Mirrors -
Default Mirrors -
The forum says I don't have permission to access the attachments. I don't suppose anyone can post either their contents or another link to them?

Hi
Will tdm2 work on win xp or vista? I want to hook up some friends with it. Also. Since its a large file, can I copy the "darkmod" folder onto a flash drive and put it on another computer? I'd like to bypass the whole download process again as I want it on another pc in my house.
Lastly there are a lot of missions listed at thedarkmod.com, are they listed in the proper play order? I'd like to play them properly according to the story etc.
Thanks a lot this looks like a lot of fun!

Yes, TDM will work on both Windows XP and Vista.

Each Fan Mission has its own story, so feel free to pick one without worrying about playing in the proper order...Popular ones are:
Tears of St. Lucia, A Score to Settle, No Honour Among Thieves, Glenham Tower, Knighton Manor, Heart of Lone Salvation, and Return to the City.
Have fun...:thumb:

It's true that most missions are stand alone adventures, however there are a few that are part of a continuing storyline. The Thomas Porter series is one. They're all listed on our wiki.

Yes, once you've downloaded it once, you can copy it anywhere, or even play it directly from a flashdrive.

Most missions are independent, but there are a few series that would benefit from being played in order. There's also a 3 mission campaign, No Honour Among Thieves.
You can see which missions are part of a series here: (
