Yeah, Ai will drop weapons. Weapons are sheathed or on their backs, not modelled in. Of course they have to be holding them to drop them.
I can't say for certian but I think if a sword is sheathed it will stay attached to belt.

Oh, duh. I should know that. I saw that one dude's beta map video (I must say it looks fantastic) and the guard sheathed his sword. Thanks for clearing that up though.:)

AI already drop their weapons when KO'd or killed. Other AI will find it mildly suspicious if they see a dropped weapon lying around. I think the sword also falls off their belt when killed, currently, though that may be fixed now. The plan is, if you have alerted an AI enough that he draws his weapon, your cleanup task is more difficult (you have to hide body and weapon). If you take the guard unalert, then you just drag the body.

Update on the moddb contest: As I write this, TDM is #40! Wow! The top 5 is in sight, but we need your help to make it there!
We made it into the top 100 thanks to everyone who voted before. But now there's a second round of voting, in which previous votes are not automatically counted. So if you want to help us out,
please vote again! :)
As for how to vote in this second round, it (confusingly) can't be done from The Dark Mod's own page on moddb. You have to go here:
(
http://www.moddb.com/events/2007-mod-of-the-year-awards/top100)
Scroll down to "Best Upcoming Mods & Indie Games of 2007" - it's a few screens down the page. Click on "Doom III" to expand it, and then click the "click here to vote" button next to The Dark Mod.
As before, votes from registered users count for a lot more than anonymous votes, so please log in to moddb if you have an account. Or create one if you don't have one (it's free).
Thanks for your support! And if we do get into the top 5, well... I'm sure we would find some way to express our gratitude. ;)
Hint. Hint.

Voted.
Weird place to put the vote - that site is a nightmare to navigate anyway which is annoying considering that it's such a great idea. I also voted for Minerva but it's in the completed category so not in competition with TDM. Shame I can't get Insurgency to work to see if it deserves a vote...
Crispy - The Dark Mod is number 37 now btw.

Everyone register and vote. Remember, you must be registered for the vote to count. Tell anyone you think might give a hoot to vote as well.
Thanks.

Voted.
I think this necessary to add in news at Circle.

Thanks!
... And yet we've slipped back down to 40 again. :(
Come on guys, we can do it! Spread the word!
Having the poll mentioned on the Circle would be very excellent. It'd have to be quick, though - there are only a few days left. Voting closes on January 1st.

OK - voted again. I agree it is an awful site to navigate. Anyone got a link to where the actual top 100 list is? I mean, how do you know that TDM is 40? I see no numbers anywhere. Maybe it's the way I have Opera configured. I see (
http://www.moddb.com/events/2007-mod-of-the-year-awards/scoreboard) showing the top 6.

You can see it on the Dark Mod page there but you have to look hard (on the right).
