My guess: the Doom 3 engine will be severely out-dated by the time any usable product is released, not to mention a complete mission-set.
Everyone's already given you a thorough going-over about the rest of your post, but I thought I'd point out why this is a bad way to think about mod efforts.
Attempting to keep on the bleeding edge of things technology-wise is the surest way to kill any ambitious mod. Switching engines is complicated and time-consuming, and generally requires ditching all the work you've already finished and starting from scratch. It sets you months or even years behind schedule depending on how much you have to remake or re-implement, increases your workload substantially, and has the potential to cause a rift within the mod team if there isn't unanimous agreement that switching engines is necessary. It's risky and more likely to kill a mod than improve it substantially.

Gestalt's right, everyone has already given you a good work over so I'll skip that for the most part.
Dark Radiant will be viable for years to come, there is no doubt about that. It can do way more than the T3 engine and will be open source one day which will make it even more customizable. As it is alot of work goes into this mod daily, hard to see as alot of the stuff is trivial to mention in the monthly update. Only major stuff gets mentioned, too much time is put into the mod to worry about reporting every little detail. blah, blah...
Anyway, there will be more foilage, here's a recently finished model of mine

I'd say just about every major game out these days has similar details anyway. Authors and most players understand this, there are not only limits to what engines can handle, but also what PC's can handle. Designers have to find a balance between what can be played on current machines/older machines, what looks good ect...

Dark Radiant is already open source, the doom 3 engine has yet to become open source though. ;) Just wanted to make that clear before it confused anyone. Doom 3 is the engine, Dark Radiant is based on the open source GTK Radiant Level Editor...same one the doom 3 editor would have been based on.

Whoops, I just do models ;)

Steady? I think they've been slacking off. They keep reporting "tweaks" but never anything really big.
Yeah, it's really a pity, that people have their own live as well and don't work like slaves for free.

Yup. For example the texture reorganization was never mentioned, as it is not really of interest to outsiders, but it still took a lot of time to finish, in order to improve usabillity later on. But such things only get appreciated if you are really working with the mod.

Those are Day Lillies.

Alright! They are recognizable :D
Got a white/purple vers too. They are fairly high poly group of 3, mainly for flower pot but could be scattered around a garden in limited numbers too.
At some point I'll probably get around to lower poly bunches for gardens.

Day Lillies are one of my favorite flowers Schwaa2. :D
