Good lord. Well, it's explained in the original post that it was just meant to be internal, it's not any kind of official release. :p Just take it for what it is, an early glimpse at a work in progress map. Not everything needs to be critiqued and pulled apart guys.
Since the original post wasn't linked...here it is.
We weren't planning on any new videos for quite some time, Gleeful decided to have a little fun and treated the team to a video that showcased a new map he has been working on. :) We decided it was too good to selfishly keep it to ourselves, so we are making it public. Here is Gleeful's original post.

Good evening, Ladies and Gentlemen,
I'm very happy to present you with the trailer of my third map.
That's right, my third map has got its very own teaser-trailer! :)
Don't ask me why - never having done anything like that I just suddenly felt like doing it (you might want to keep this complete and utter lack of experience in mind when judging the result).
You can find a stream right here:

Hope you guys like it!
Keep in mind, that The Dark Mod is still a long way off from completion, but the tools are still quite usable at this point. Anyone wishing to beta map can drop me a line at recruiting@thedarkmod.comI hope that clears up any confusion. :)

I have seen the page project today, and i have to say: OH MY GOD!!
This is an awesome project to update the Thief world by the community, i think the best ever seen in the game world.
The video trailer it's incredible, and the idea to create the *tools* for tha new thief game creation, it's a winning idea, i think.
With the Q3 engine it's possible to create some incredible new possibilities fo the Thief series!
I hope this project grow quickly!:)
My truely compliments to the inventor and all the team involved.:D

Thanks, appreciate the enthusiasm. Just wanted to point out though, we're using the Doom 3 Engine, not Q3.

looks nice
but the tracker music was just awful!
Ouch!
comments i would have...
the fire didn't give almost any light off it, apart from the immediate surroundings
which is realistic in that sense that that's what it would appear like with limited range camera or vision if sight was fixed on the fire and bright parts
but when you turn your back on the fire, you should see the walls clearly, illuminated by the fire
which is dynamic range - and if it can't be simulated, make the fire give light further
the city streets look very deserted, sterile and artificial like
the buildings should be closer together for some sense of claustrophobia like in thief's streets
but as said, it being an internal release, these things might be obvious to you already
keep up the good work \o/
may the builder be with thee

Thanks for the feedback guys, but it's just an internal WIP map. Just enjoy the video and don't spend so much time being a reviewer. :) I find the community spends far more time critiquing Thief related things, than enjoying them.

Even though I'm probably a sinner in this category, I must say that truer words have never been spoken on these forums.
The L in TTLG stands for l33t-ism. True and Terrible L33t-ism, Guys

Well, I wouldn't say it's that bad. :) There is a time and a place for criticism, it just doesn't have to be for every little thing that is shared with the public. I would like to try and share some more of these little internal development pieces , but the community needs to relax and just enjoy the experience. We'll tell you when we are putting something out for feedback and when we are just tossing something out to give you a glimpse of the internal development.

Has anyone created a list of links to all things DarkMod related?
Was just wondering. I know only of this forum and what I believe is the main site. From what I've seen of the concept art and still images of maps etc...
Things are looking absolutely wonderful.
I can't wait to play some FMs based off of it.
I always wanted to author some FMs for Thief1,G,2 but haven't found the time and also I am not crazy about the window limit of dromed of 640x480. What editor would you use with DromEd on top of Doom3 and does it expand to what ever resolution your working in?
If I wanted to help with anything but was lacking in ANY experience could I or others in this position still help and if so how?

Sorry to pick at one point of your post but you can shift DromEd up to 800x600 in all of thirty seconds, there are tutorials stickied in the editors guild which explain how.
Is that
really all that's been keeping you from using DromEd?
:weird:
