Hey, TDM has been updated today, at its third anniversary, to the (http://www.thedarkmod.com/main/) 1.08 version :)! The update itself is relatively small (less than 140 MB), so this won't take too long to download it.
60 FMs so far (1.5-2 times as much as Thief 3 has), and upcoming large campaign in 2013 - not bad, if you ask me. Happy birthday and long live TDM :)!

Has anyone played Melan's & Bikerdude's FM "Return to the City?" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXeKwtn2dHQ&feature=plcp) Here is a 4 minute fly-by on YouTube ("Unreal 1 intro" style) for those who hasn't. The FM's details are comparable with Dishonored at least, a commercial title.

Well that was stupid of them. The fact it's open source & can support TCs is one of the few things it has going for it these days, and that's the one thing they toss out...

Edit: On the bright side, it seems they are going to be (http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=MTIxMDc) open-sourcing the BFG version also. So that might make it more likely TDM becomes compatible with it. And it does have some engine improvements apparently. Although with the amount of work that might take, going full-on standalone might be just as close a goal to shoot for, and much better of course.

I found (http://www.giantbomb.com/news/vanilla-doom-3-to-be-available-for-purchase-again/4429/) this article on GiantBomb regarding doom 3 being available for purchase again. Thought folks would want to know, considering Dark Mod requires doom 3 [and won't work with bfg edition] at the moment.
