Ahhh yes, I remember playing that map a long time ago. :)

Yeah, that was a cool map. Only problem is, it would crash on me after *spoiler* the fire starts when you go down the staircase. Still, areas like the dark hallway with the moon/mountains outside were just beautiful.

Hm, what's about a TDM version of this map? :)

Indeed, it could work pretty well. Somebody should contact the author and see if he is game for it. You could just add some more rooms, provide multiple entry points, place some guards, and have it be your standard burglary mission.

A few of the authors images refer to 'darkmod', the one that comes to mind is the duck model. Chances are he was one of the early contributers.

LOL, he's still listed as your primary animator:
Quote:
Animation Division
squill (Mapper, Animator, Modeler)
"Animator with a strong passion for games and graphics. Started out with creating maps for various FPS games and developed some modeling and texture skills to enhance his environments. When not into games he enjoys being a animation student, musician and film junky. Joined The Dark Mod team as a mapper but extended with some model and texture creation and is currently doing character animation at the animation department."

LOL! Yesterday, I've written him a letter with suggestion to rework his "Redwood Manor" from Doom 3 to TDM:laff:. Hey Lionel, I didn't know that you are already a TDM member :).

i just played 1.02 at last and can't tell you how much I like this mod. it runs flawlessly on my laptop (linux or win) and the new AI updates look very good. I am always amazed how much playtime I can get out of one FM. replayed St.Lucia, return to city and (for me) new glenham tower. Thief4 can do what it wants as long as I got the DarkMod.
update: actually, i have a question.
the only thing nagging me about the controlscheme in tdm is that when I lean right I always have to go back to the default position and THEN use lean left, I can't hit the keys in succession and move from lr to ll in one go. was that a concious decision, it breaks the flow and has no "roots in the gameworld" imo....
maybe someone knows why.

There is a setting (I think) so you have to hold the key down and when you release you spring back from the release anyway. That is the one I use so moving my finger from one to the other lean keys always works the same as in Thief. I'd have to look it up.
... Yes it's TOGGLE LEAN in the controls menu. I have that set to DISABLED.
