Just imagine a total remake of the Thief series with DarkMod. :wot:
that would be awesome, imagine playing the huge city mission in Thief 2 with DarkMod.
The idea alone is so cool, maybe the best FM makers could combine their efforts and start a conversion? Bring out 1 mission of the thief series out montly?

It's an idea that would violate Eidos copyright of the franchise, and we would be unable to officially support any and all missions that violate that copyright. That means we could never host them officially, and would have to distance ourselves from them. It's quite possible that Eidos would not make the distinction between a TDM mission that violates copyright, and the TDM toolset itself...meaning it could bring legal eyes our way. No way to know that of course, but I would rather not take that risk.
On a positive note, TDM is a new world to explore. We encourage FM makers to explore new ideas, and build new missions. :)

I'm impressed with the ambiance provided by the TDM developers, and I'm glad the FM makers are utilizing it well. For example, just listen to the music in the upstairs portions of Patently Dangerous. It matches the environment perfectly... leaning out a doorway and peeking down the hall for guards.
For the record, that ambient you're talking about isn't a Dark Mod one, but a custom one made by a guy called (
http://www.youtube.com/user/alacazam) alacazam (I'm not sure that's his real name) on YouTube. Fortunately he gave his permission for it to be used in Dark Mod FMs though, so others can use it, and he seemed positive about his other ambients being used for Dark Mod FMs too when I mentioned it. :)
That's good news because all his ambients sound awesome.

@demagogue: Can I ask the name of the ambient you used in Patently Dangerous?

i have played all the FMs now, but i fail to play the biggest one. NHAT.pk4
i downloaded it 2 times, i left one as a zip file and renamed other to pk4. But it doesnt show in my mission list when i start darkmod. I have tried many things but still it does not show. Any help on that? it shows the other missions, does it anything to with because its big in size? liek 140 MB, the other FMs are rather small.

Campaigns are not yet supported in Dark Mod so this campaign shows as three separate FMs in the list to be played in order:
politics
anoot
forest
Also, if your OS is Linux then rename Politics.pk4 to politics.pk4.

i dont see them, do i need to unrar the files? Because i see the missions seperatly when i open the rar file. So i extract them and put pk4 ?
doesnt matter, it works now. Ingame it shows 1/3 to 3/3 so i started to playthe first. looks good. thanks

I know not everyone checks the FM forum, so I thought I'd repost a glimpse of the two new female characters for our next update: the wench and the noblewoman.
