I hope the mod gets released in the next couple of months...Since I cannot play Thief1/2 FM's I am getting ready for some Dark mod ones...
If you really want to get a Darkmod fix, you could always download DarkRadiant and make a Darkmod FM with the St. Lucia assets.
We've already had (at least) one independent FM come out. No reason why there could be a few others before TDM 1.0 officially gets released ... to pass the time.

Will the key configuration in dark mod stay as it is or it will change to T2 default bindings? I am a bit confused with some controls like inventory and use item keys. Also will there be any change in body dragging? I realy prefer the shouldering of bodies.

You can already shoulder bodies in Saint Lucia if that's what you're asking. When you're dragging them, hit the "use item" key to shoulder the body, and hit it again to unshoulder them.

Just went to the site and looked...wow. Beautiful work. And a set of tools to work with as well.
It got me to thinking...over 5 years ago I had come up with an idea for a Thief campaign set in a sort of Mesoamerican setting (Garrett stows away on board a boat filled with Hammer missionaries when he hears the place is full of gold and runs afoul of various troubles), but due to a lack of experience in general management on my part despite a talented team of designers and some admittedly 'beyond the ability of Thief at the time' ideas, it never quite got off the ground.
But seeing this Dark Mod and how's based on Doom 3...I wonder if it might be time to reconsider.
Now, granted if this were used I would have to remove the references to Garrett and the Hammers (not too big an issue, I don't know if Garrett would jump into a situation like this on reflection anyway), but seeing as how the models are certainly custom made, how easy is it to model using Doom 3? I wouldn't want to give too much away, but I'm not an artist, and the last time I was using DromED, the only way to make new models for Thief was to have Maya software. I'm guessing that's no longer the case with this, but this campaign would certainly use new or modified models.
Also, reading about weather effects, I'm tempted to make a snow level of some kind now...robbing some monastery in the mountains or something like that. But one thing at a time...have to finish releasing my novel first. And I have absolutely no artistic skill in level design, which I should try to correct, too.;)

Well, you could do some pretty convincing models with brushes in Dark Radiant, but real modeling still has to be done in a modeling application. Dark Radiant is a level editor, not a modeling app.

You can!?!?:o I'll have to try that....

Not to derail the thread. Why can't you play Thief FM's?
The low res textures in Thief/Thief2 give me motion sickness.
Modern games don't..

TDM supports .lwo and .ase models, so any modelling ap that can save in those formats (Lightwave and Blender are the two most used by the development team) is fine.

You've got to be kidding me.
And if you're not kidding, that's really too bad. :(
I would think playing any game would give you motion sickness if that's what the deal is... In fact, it seems weird that it would happen for thief since it's so slow paced compared to First person shooters

Sometimes I get the motion sickness too if I play for a long time.
It´s because of the head movement (the simulation of walking with head going up and down).
Somehow I don´t find it natural and I get a bit dizzy after a while. That and the textures don´t help either.
