Bump for justice, and I hope you guys get a career as professional game developers soon!
Well, many of us already have careers and aren't really interested in being cogs in the industry. Some on the team may like to work for a company though. Wouldn't be my cup of tea. When you work in the industry, you don't really get to make the kinds of games 'you' want to make anymore. It's a very different place than it once was.

True, very true there. Well, keep up the good work on TDM! I can already smell community created maps coming very soon!

You always have the option of going the indie route. You'll still be able to make the types of games you want to make, don't have to worry about a publisher breathing down your neck, and generally have more fun all around.
Course you'll be poor and starving, but you'd be doing that under a big publisher anyway. At least you'll be going hungry on your own terms.

I hope so...that's the only reason we're making it!
I can't wait to play my first fan-created map that I haven't already seen in advance. :)

I played The Santa Lucia level and it immediately brings back that atmosphere that was so absolutely immersive in the first two games, and the third to some degree. I love the feel of it all, walking, running, the exploration, looking for hidden stuff, manipulating random objects, it all looks and plays ace. I honestly cannot say it's Doom 3 anymore, it's like a total custom engine you guys built... If I had any mapping skills I'd use this in an instant to build some pretty fabulous Thief missions, alas I will let other more talented people do that.
Keep up the awesome work. I can already imagine some bedroom magicians remaking Thief 1 & 2 for The Dark Mod... :thumb:

Actually, iirc, game developers who work "as a cog in the industry" actually get fairly decent money. You just don't get good sleep. :cheeky:

Just a quick pat on the back for everyone involved in the tears of st lucia - spot-on, amazing atmosphere, sneaky fun, unbearable tension, its getting very close to as good as the original thief (and a hell of a lot prettier). I was also extremely pleasantly suprised by how good the mission was, I was expecting an extended tech demo. Anyhow, great work! cant wait for more!
...oh. Is it no swearing here now or something? Are there more children than normal about?

I don't have Doom 3 and I don't have a computer which can run Doom 3, or the funds to buy either.
If anyone sporadically felt like making a video walkthrough of Tears of St. Lucia, then I wouldn't complain. :thumb:

Are you sure you can't run doom 3? It's a game that can scale down really well.
What are your technical specs?
