I don't know the guy at all, but I do know that a community like this needs people like that to stir things up once in a while. I mean, who'd want to come to a forum where stagnancy is the norm?
Well, this place can be a lot of things: a theater; a psychological experiment (I'm looking at you, GBM); training grounds for future (and present?) politicians; you name it. I'm thinking whatever reason prompted him to leave this place must be his own issue, because all you need to get the most out of this place is a proper perspective. As for any void left behind, it's better filled sooner than later.

Perhaps what commchat needs is to self-analyse a little bit less and just get on with it.

Yeah, I can't really remember how it went down but I didn't have a net connection for a while and then didn't really have the time to use one to post stuff anyway. If there was a need for a clean break it was probably a year or so before then. But it worked out alright. Good to be missed too.
