Hey, I may be waxy but I'm hardly pale. :D And to say I never "got" TTLG or Noid is just.. just... laughable. It's the people who are lamenting his childish, huffy departure who don't get it. TTLG is more than the sum of its parts; it's more than just one person, no matter how well that one person may have said the sort of things we wished we'd had the nerve (or the BAC) to say. We can regroup.
And GBM, neener neener right back at you.
Gingerbread Man on 12/11/2007 at 15:34
I was just pointing out that there's a little Noid in all of us. :D
Scots Taffer on 12/11/2007 at 22:45
Lesser, I wasn't directing my comment at you but thanks for responding anyhow. And this is less about Noid as a person and more about the sort of culture he helped shape with his antics. His personality, as such, wasn't especially brilliant, but the way his personality interacted with this place often was.
Anyway, I don't think this place is dead, far from it. I've already said that, and I'm not a person who dwells in the past, but I can reminisce if I choose to!

You mean the bit where he simply stopped posting?
SubJeff on 13/11/2007 at 00:36
Well at least we got Sypha back ITT! \o/ I also do not remember this Noid huff. Didn't he just post less and less (post less huuur).
G is never coming back GBM, which is a shame but then wasn't he pushed out against his own will? I miss the stubborness of Mr Croft/Nedan sometimes.
Also - I vote for weirdest time-out as the Muzman post-Tsunami disappearance and return 2+ years later or something. Where were you man and why didn't you call?

I say one of the following three options:
☻ Dames
☻ Life *
☻ International Espionage
* not limited to job, university, moving home, depression, death in the family, attempted suicide, mental illness, WoW addiction, jailtime, health problems, stalking someone around the world, or becoming a hobo

What in the hell happened to screech...
The little spats we had so closely mirrored those of my wife and I that at times I truly questioned my sanity.
SubJeff on 13/11/2007 at 01:05
Perchance an elaborate hoax by your spouse and now that marital bliss has returned screech has gone back to the dark place.
WoW addiction - now a real cause of Serious Life Affecting Time Drainage. Truth. This really is why I don't play it.

IMO, the best thing in regards to WoW was the Southpark episode based on it.
MMORPG's don't do it for me, but I'm hoping the upcoming 'Age of Conan' ruins my life as thoroughly as I once pondered that WoW may have.
