I think it went well enough and it actually took me over the required 200 words and saved alot of students that hadn't finished the homework that was to be reviewed that morning. I was also encouraged by some classmates "to take it off".Incidently when I took off my pullover..I was wearing my Save your Nuts shirt evoking a snort? from teacher and the required humourous start to any speech..So then: "In this paper which I was

First off that most young people such as myself are more aware of the problems related to underage drinking. "A Serious and Deadly problem, being the contributing factor to the four leading causes of death in young people - Accidents, Vehicle deaths, murders, and suicide. All beginnig witht the thinking problems that the intake of alcohol can bring about..How do we prevent this???"
I stated some statistics, starting from the time of prohibition when the concerns were more about dealing with public drinking then age as it is today..the legal ages for drinkers in other countries whether they should be lowered/raised, the numbers of young drinkers whether they have gone upr down..just short of making a chart. Went well.
I pointed out that teens are faced with many "adult problems" and how family..some families as mine, permit a child to drink supervised at family functions. possibly a conflict of messages being sent there. It lead to drinking the left over dregs in other peoples glasses. It became a rampant behaviour at every function on my part.
Peers, we know well enough how strong an influence that is. A person will behave according to their friends' standards in order to fit and be accepted, we all need that:rolleyes: Its easy to find a party where alcohol is provided to minors. Parents really should take the time to maybe mind where their sons and daughters are off to.
Schools can influence the individual by sending out a "don't drink messages" and will discourage any attire that promotes such activity without question. harhar. Example me.
The media and certain statements might show images of underage drinking making some more gullible teens think or justify that drinking underage is accepted and permitted. These conflicting messages are some reasons why we have teens drinking underage. BUT the MEDIA and likewise the silly slogans we see all around us are based on FALSEHOODS and IRONY and I would hope to know that most of it can be taken WITH A GRAIN OF SALT!
Affects, well already stated what I was going to point out earlier in this thread. Ultimatley to lead to alcoholism and then you die of a rotting liver..I did make a point of adding some fun facts about the effects of drinking sexshully just as I was starting to lose the audience the interest peaked and my teacher started to look a bit pinched :ebil: hehehe.. (thank you Starrfall :D it really went over well) Went into some details here more on the affects on the body as opposed to how being drunk makes you want to just rut anyting on two legs. Erectile dysfunction I could say but couldn't manage anything related to vagina without falling apart..
By that time I was ready to wrap it up:
"I encourage all my classmates and peers to see if our thoughts, action and resoponsiblities to our selves need to be changed..let's just all strive to stay sober at least until we are permitted being that we reach the legal age without drinking ourselves into an early grave...and above all watch what kind of messages
you may be sending out to others. You could be
influencing someone to drink or do drugs or go see a questionable rock band. Simply based on a thoughtless choice of garment.

Teacher's final comment. Well done, a very thourough paper Jim, perhaps we should all take a thought in what messages weourselvesasindiviuals are sending out to others, and whatthatmightsayaboutourselves. etcetct...oh yes, we should begin to consider writing papers on such a topic..:mad:
After being passionate on my part and putting the right spin on it, I am sure I had alot of my classmates/ppers go against me on this result. Extreme sounds of sucking noises/hissing ensued.
In anycase I think if this had been required curriculum without a doubt I believe I would have recieved
A+++ Have I learned my lesson in all this..HELL NO whatever will be the next topic based on some ridiculous infraction. I will no doubt find out.
