Sexypat, Brother Seudocience seems to think the blackjack is just another tool for hammering a chisel. You know what they say: to a Hammerite, every tool looks like a hammer (and every thief looks like a nail).
If you pass all the way through the "art" gallery, you'll find a second storage room....

Thanks for feedback again. :)
Originally I didn't intend to write any kind of plot, but just a simple go in, get the loot and get out style of mission. But then I got the idea about
taking the Dark Engine literally
and it surely needed some kind of explanation.
Dafydd, I'll keep in mind what you said about ghosting. If I had changed something from the mission, that would have been
the room with a table inside the wall.
I didn't think that was possible to ghost at all.

Heh, you'd be amazed how many FM authors have said those very words!
We're an enterprising bunch, though there are ways to make ghosting completely impossible, if some author really wanted to do so (or simply forgot to have someone ghost-test the mission :weird: ).
We have weird priorities. We'll spend a couple of hours (real time) trying to figure out how to sneak past some stupid guard whom we could blackjack in half a second, all to get a 5g stack of coins that we don't even need to complete the mission. The fun is in getting past him without knocking him out and without him even seeing you.

So, designer does his job, ghoster does his job - and if a ghoster has something to say, a good designer will listen. :p
If I need ghost-tester someday, maybe I can ask you?

Very nice mission Dark Gentleman. I enjoy it very much. :thumb:
Where the hell is safe key. I searched library from top to bottom and back and nothing...
:erg:

You need to find
Brother Seudocience. If you are in the libary, then he is not too far away.

If you are short of the last bit of loot, or want to find all the secret areas,
including the second "Easter Egg" weapons cache all is revealed in the lootlist and walkthrough now available at thiefmissions.com (
http://www.thiefmissions.com/info.cgi?m=TheCleanOut) here. Many thanks to epithumia for hosting them.

Well, I finally found the
secret stash of charges
and went about trying to have fun with them. I first tried blowing them up around the Dark Engine; pretty colors with explosions blahblahblah, it got old fast. With just about everything said and done, I walked back through the underhalls back toward the church narthex. But then I stopped at the kitchen. Some idiotic childish glee swept through me. I saw the oven and immediatly cooked up a recipe for disaster :ebil: . So I dropped a Sunburst on the grill and watched the flames lick over its shell. Nothing happened for a few secods and I started thinking, "Hmm, maybe the fire can't reach it." But just as I thought that...well...

I thought I was the only one trying to blow up the
Dark Engine
using those
explosive charges.
"Well, there was this fire arrow laying right there, surely I'm supposed to use it on something." But I never found the weak point that would destroy the thing.
MD, I like the way you think. Brother S, how about a swim? :laff: My favorite theify barbecue and pool party was Ranstall Keep, though. I just couldn't leave all those evil non-human AIs sleeping peacefully. :sly:
