I was thinking it was rather dull in here but it's perked up a little. And it seems the goal posts have been moved a bit.
I was wanting to know what constitutes 'civil unrest'. Perhaps you're only willing to discuss US civil unrest. But the question still stands. When a 'peaceful protest' develops, through various other agendas, into something perhaps more aggressive, is that 'civil unrest' or just hijacking of agendas?

I would say peaceful protests are technically the mildest form of civil unrest, since they qualify as a state of public dissatisfaction.
Hey nickie, could you add "Yes...But I will protest anyway!" as the second answer on the poll?
Pretty please, with sugar on top...:)

Isn't the reason for the unrest that Clinton actually (marginally) won the popular vote yet Trump still got elected? So the "people decided" argument doesn't apply?
There was a protest here in Seattle. Big crowd marched through the streets of the whole city yelling not my president and such. There was a police escort too. Overall, very civil.
And I figured this thread was satirical. I'll come back with something clever to add one it pops into my mind :p

I admire these protesters, the Right could learn a lot from them. You don't like something, you assault, kill, burn and loot until people submit and appease you out of fear.
Unfortunately the Right is too wimpy to stomp skulls in the street. Only the Left ever does this stuff, so only the Left ever wins. :(

So I guess it's official: TTLG has zero standards for what's acceptable behavior unless it's to do with me.

Oh the right has something in this too. It sowed division for the 8 years under Obama. This is the fruit of that. And you may not have noticed the Right won, maybe not the popular vote, but the congress and presidency. When a candidate has claimed all Mexicans are murderers, rapists, and drug dealers, has shown no respect for women, has urged assassination should his opponent be elected, has stated he would not accept election results should he not win, has urged violence against protesters at his rallies, and generally been a whiney bully baby it is no wonder he has sown ire. Reap what you sow.
The reason the right does not protest as Trump urged after Obama won his second term is because they are either rural or secure behind their gated communities. Texans may say they are going to secede but they know they have it pretty good. Not so some segments of society.
Oh and ha the right doesn't stomp skulls? Do you really want me to rattle off a list? I will. Just say the word.

Dont act so surprised. Youve been down that road enough times to know the drill. I love the fact that this thread is in CommyChat, now also featuring dethtoll. Carry on, wayward noobs.

I'm not worried. It's always darkest before the light. This could be America's finest hour.
