Violence? Pyros, the way I know the type, just like to set off M80s and burn shit and maybe own a few firearms to hunt or shoot at street signs. They're also easily the most sarcastic people, so you're not disproving me with that.
They'd undoubtably be the first ones to take arms when the federal gov't invades the heartland, sure, but short of that I'm not referring to guys that literally mug people or support it, not where I'm from. I don't know what kind of highschool you went to though.

Now Im not so sure why I read violence into "camo-wearing pyro". After reading your descriptions and the blurb about high school it all came clear as I knew one of those types. I went to a private school in Racine Wisconsin, but I'll be damned if there wasnt that one guy who was into the military, spent all day in school reading Forgotten Realms books, and as it turns out was a pyro! He was actually a close friend of mine, lol, and it turned out he was gay! I never even knew it. I remember after school when I was 14, going to his parents house and watching him play Wasteland on the 2gs for hours, never suspected a thing. He should *not* have had to hide it from everyone his whole life.
However, Vae is certainly not the type you describe. Nothing like it in fact.
