Just finished this awesome mission. This time I missed around 550 loot.
I was on edge the whole time and I couldn't complete it in a single sitting like I usually do. I had to take a couple breaks and come back
Also kudos to the team on designing the scary enemies. It's always nice to encounter new or even altered enemy designs. The giant spider took a lot of hits of the holy sword before it went down ^_^
I also have 2 questions:
-What did I miss on top of the air elemental tower? I remember an area that seemed important with 5 statues and a hole in the middle with some eerie background music, but I didn't find anything useful up there. Furthermore, I tried getting on top of the statue's, but I couldn't mantle on them and the walls were too high
-Was there anything special going on with the vases you could frob which in turn glows? They were spread throughout the whole level, and I first saw them in the spider library area. I immediately assumed they had something to do with a puzzle or a secret, but in the end I didn't find anything.

It's interesting to see how much people liked this mission. I certainly found it to be the weakest of the bunch.
I think it's mainly because of certain lack of focus/cohesion and its general direction which both made it not live up to its name.
The setup was great and made me expect something like the main piece of loot area from Lost Among the Forsaken, except the door closes and now you're on your own. Instead whatever tension was built through the first underground areas, it evaporated while going through the elemental puzzles. The final area has a name appropriate atmosphere, but I wish the focus would've been put on survival rather than stealing.
Perhaps a bit harsh of an opinion, because it's focused on negatives while the mission has a couple of great elements and an ending which already is a classic. Maybe I'll be able to enjoy it more while replaying it someday, knowing what to expect.

Playing on Expert, and I've accomplished the objectives on the harp, the ring, and the loot. But I have no idea where the tablets are. A hint please!
RippedPhreak on 21/12/2023 at 23:36
If you have the blue ring, have you found a set of doors that the ring opens?

After you got the ring you need to use it on the door and than go to the bottom of the library.

Whew, that was a marathon of a mission! Loving the whole campaign so far. Managed to miss out 1100 loot, but I've hardly used any of the equipment I buy so it's not that much of an imposition. If anything, the low difficulty, even on expert, would be my major complaint. I almost never have to use anything as long as I'm careful.
Two questions on this mission specifically:
What is that giant red floaty thingy in the final area, where you get the tablets? It looks like a giant Half-Life barnacle. It didn't react to fire arrows and I wanted to go stand on it. I wish Thief had noclip.
The mission briefing made it seem like undead were going to be a major threat, and you could buy holy water. I never ran across any zombies, and all the enemies could be eliminated with regular damage or fire arrows/flashbombs. Did I miss something, or is this intended? I ended up using the holy water to stack my way outside the map :)

I'm stuck at (
https://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=152437&page=2&p=2509197&viewfull=1#post2509197) the same place ciscokidd73 was (trying to figure out the way into the
water or earth temples) and haven't figured out a way in yet. I was thinking it'd have something to do with
hitting one of the metal circles with a water or moss arrow respectively, but that evidently isn't it.
Edit: In the meantime,
I'm going try to see if there's another way through the Fire Temple that might get to one or both of them. It seems there is another way going somewhere... Edit 2: Well,
I'm making progress down this other way... So I suppose this is the way. If I'd leave a hint for future reference, it's just that
there's a thing that takes a key you might miss until you see it highlight.

Wow! I will post the same comment I made in the thread for Mission 7: This just gets better and better!
My comments on this one:
What a rollercoaster! Initially seemed quite small, but then opened up into another huge map.
Loved the descending spiders, triggered by the webs on the floor; very inventive - although I found the final trigger plate you encounter didn't produce anything.
It was one of those 'just when you think it's all over' experiences. Loved the Statue spider, which I dispatched with a couple of mines and the variety of monsters kicking around.
I never managed to find the portcullis lever, neither did I (more strangely) ever encounter any of the shadow figures mentioned in previous posts.
Also, agree with Peanuckle.
My choice of equipment at the start was influenced by the references to undead.
Anyway - loads of fun!

I may have hit the wall on this one: after getting the signet ring, going further down into the dark warren filled with monsters. I've gotten as far as the tablets, but then get murdered trying to find my way back up. I've read that returning to the forest is worthwhile, but I dread backtracking through all the underground stuff. Should I power through?
My one complaint about TPB is that these levels are so long I end up fatigued, even if I split it up over several days. This one in particular.
edit: okay, I was so close I just had to push through. one tip for the tablets is to hop up on the ramparts, circle around the the upper window (avoiding the maze and beasts) and snatch them. Then return the same way, or hop down and head back up the way you came.
For anyone having trouble getting back to the forest: if you returned to the bridge with the doors you opened via signet, go back up the transporter and check out the other direction; there is a path with a transporter up to silent pillars which will put you above the dolphin poll people are getting stuck at.

I've never played a level before that starts as a horror game and ends as a Zelda dungeon, but I liked it!
