The guest book lists someMesser Yharnam. I wonder if that's a reference to Bloodborne.
Really liked the atmosphere in the attic with the noise of rain falling and buckets to catch rain leaking.

Is there really no way to close the secret room in DeWall's private study?

Nope, sorry. :D
And all for the sake of the pullchain switch working the exact same way as similar switches do in the next mission.

So after a long time looking for the security key, I was told it should be on the heavy guard downstairs with the face armour. Well it isn't. he doesnt have a key and I killed him earlier and never received one. Does anyone know any way I can still proceed in this game? I'm not restarting the mission
Thanks

The security key is on a halberd guard on the second floor. He is followed by a guard dog. He passes right outside the security office.

Just finished this one! Found all the loot on my own this time. :D My score: 9.5/10. I have it in second place so far, only behind Death's Dominion. It's interesting, as both of these missions increased in score after ghosting it, which means their difficulty level is high enough to make subsequent playthroughs equally enjoyable. This is definitely the most Thief 2-like mission so far and is a very needed changeup to the undead/magical missions of late. The manor reminded me some of Gervaisius' place, but still had a very distinct feel to it.
Pros:
- Story. This mission makes taking down Ramirez seem like a Sunday picnic.
- Manor design. I love how many ways you can make your way around and between the floors. Climb the garden, secret corridor, stairs, ropes...no lift though. :(
- Non-linearity. I found at least 6 ways inside the manor, plus the objectives can be done in any order. Great stuff!
- High difficulty. On par with First City Bank & Trust. Tiled floors, cameras, tight patrols, electric lights. Love it!
- I'll give the guard dog a shoutout. Although I'm not a dog person at all, it was pretty cool.
- The runs. 'Nuff said :laff:
Cons:
- I liked the premise of bringing the body inside, but it got a bit tedious lugging it around. Strength potions do help. I really wish the cellar doors right at the start could've been openable from inside the basement; that way the corpse could've been fetched afterwards for shorter travel.
- Can we please get a heist mission where you don't have to turn off an alarm? I'm starting to feel this is done just to bug me...

I just finished this mission, for me the weakest by far of everything I've played in the campaign.

I finally got back to Black Parade and playing this mission where I left off. Being much more of a Thief 1 fan, this Thief 2 style mission wasn't really my cup of tea, but I have to say I still enjoyed it. I used a lot of moss arrows, so I was glad they were plentiful. I was also very glad to eventually be able to turn off the periscopes permanently.
One time I was able to witness a guard "take care of business" and use the fragrance stuff afterwards to cover the smell - well done, that bit!
I liked the guard and his dog, added something unique to the situation. I was able to snag his key as they went by, but later a well time gas arrow (after 15 quick-loads) put them both down.
The servant mopping was a nice touch.
One of my favorite aspects was checking the clocks whenever I went by, seeing time progress throughout the evening and night. That simple little thing just made everything feel much more real and immersive for me.
And when I played that big Victrola music machine, I had to just sit there and listen to the whole song, mesmerizing!

Mission 7 - No knockouts, no guard alerts, 100% Loot found! This was the quickest one so far I think, 3 hours and 12 minutes in-game timer to fall 85 loot short, then about another 3.5 hours for total of about 6 hours 45 minutes. Absolutely love the SNES Actraiser Music playing and didn't realize at first that it brings the guard in from the adjacent room.
