As far as I know it the authors didn't say something about the circle and the elemental arrows yet. Many raised the question if it opens something in the bathroom. I didn't found anything. There is a book that describes a ritual but do to the lack of child blood I couldn't try it out.:cheeky:

Well, the symbol in the bathroom, tub full of brains and the circle are what baffles me now. I mean, there are plenty of corpse parts, eerie hauntings etc in various locations of this mission, indicating undead cataclysm and necromantic cult acting there, but those I mentioned is quite peculiar even considering overall atmosphere of this mission. I think I will save it now and go further in the campaign, but certainly I will have to backtrack and experiment more with perhaps a fresher mind :D.

There are several ways in [...]
One additional way OUT is
via canal -> underwater passage heading W -> sewers, emerging in the big round hole with sleeping zombies. I could not use this path as way IN, because once cannot ascend from the moat. Unless one already reached this area differently and left a rope arrow that can be reached from water. At any time, the sewers can be used to travel to/fro: the W walled-off area, the E haunted area, and the prison.
If by "moat" you mean the canal area right before the entrance to the manor, then there is a way to
rope up from there. Swim towards the (fake) door on the south side of the canal, right below the broken bridge leading to the manor entrance. Climb not onto the regular floor boards before the door, but onto the wooden beams below the floor boards. There is one area where the boards are missing due to damage, and it is possible to mantle up onto the remaining wooden beam. It's a bit tricky, and you may have to leave a tiny bit of room between Hume and the beam, or you might have to mantle at a 45 degree angle relative to the wooden beam, but then it should work. And then it's rope arrow time;) - two or three shots at the beams portruding from the north wall should bring you up onto the remains of that broken bridge, just before the manor entrance.

Does anyone know if the book mentioned in the thieve's red journal (the desk with a wheel of cheese) is something you can find? It states, among other trinkets, that they found some magical book and threw it in the canal. I didn't know if it's something you can get for loot or a side quest or anything like that

Superb mission. Atmospheric and demanding in terms of exploration skills and climbing shenanigans. I still have plenty of loot to find, but I did find something else...
Namely, 666 fire arrows on the gargoyle above the main entrance to the mansion along the note that I am real taffer :D As for the question on that note, asking me how do I get down now... In fact I did manage to jump down, if somebody is interested I can share my method for climbing up there and going down there :P.
Now I am trying some stuff with ritual circle and the idol. I found an gas arrow so perhaps there is some kind of elemental ritual where all arrows are needed... Have not any specific idea now though.Overall, yeah, all missions were cool but this one is just marvelous. It just invites a player to look for more and more secrets.
I tried a few ways but would appreciate a hint how to get up there. tried from both sides but probably missing the obvious. thanks :)

I noted that down to look for but didn't find it. I'm hoping it's somewhere and has something to do with the bathroom.

100% LOOT Found finally!! In game counter is at 3 hours 48 min but that was easily over 10 hours of actual mission time. I thought I had found all the loot in the fountain out front of the manor, but that was wrong. a revisit got me more and the last 10 wasn't too far from there either.
What's up with that creepy hand that is showing outside on the left side of the blue bed, but when you run over and look at it, the hand tucks away.

The city part of the mission was amazing but i think the manor ended to be slightly disappointing, i mean, there was great potential to add a few puzzles but instead it turned out to be a big place with not much to do.
A really great mission that could have been epic with a more fleshed out final part.

Sorry for late response, but I wasn't visiting forum for quite a while.
As for how to get there - maybe you figured it out already, but anyway the answer is - persistent climbing and wise use of terrain features and engine limitations. I don't have Thief installed for now, but as far as I remember, from one of the top balconies I did this by forced climbing (a lot of jumping and dragging yourself up) on the intersection of two roof slopes and then, up to that iron spiked fence upon the roof's ridge. Then, you just need to walk on it very carefully and it can lead you above the gargoyle I was talking about. You can see the note and fire arrow from above, you just need to mark your jump down and you can get there.
You can also jump down from there alive and keep your arrows and sense of pride for the rest of the mission. As far as I remember I jumped down to one of the lower balconies to some edge or fence that I could hold on to while midair - as you well know perhaps, fall damage does not affect Garret/other taffers when they grab something with their hands while midair instead of landing on their feet
Have fun trying this for yourself :D. Cheers!
