Regarding the blue face in the sewers mentioned by sub-res, VampireCoffee, and frobbin hood in earlier posts, I was able to reach it fairly reliably by:
* Grabbing a body
* Standing on the east side of the middle chain above the pit and facing west
* Falling off the chain (to the left/south or right/north; either direction works)
* Dropping (not throwing) the body just before hitting the ground to avoid most or all of the fall damage
(It's helpful to quicksave just before the third step!)
This method usually lets you land behind the derelict generator near the middle of the pit, which protects you from the blue face's attacks (and sometimes prevents it from seeing you in the first place).
I'm curious if the blue face is a reference; there's something slightly similar in the 1997 game Sentient (a floating, blue-tinted version of the captain's head appears without explanation in the "tumble maze" virtual environment to which the player character may be subjected), but I suspect that's just a coincidence!

Favorite mission so far, by far, but...
3128 loot!?!? How? I got 1717 and really thought I scoured every last corner of that map. How in the hell is there that much missed loot.

Same here. I was in a big hurry to get out of there though so I got just over the minimum and scooted. I did a hard save though so I can go back and have a better look around. I think there are areas in the early part that you can explore but miss because you're trying to get through the first goal. At least that's what I think I did.

Yeah, I loaded old saves just to poke around. There was one location, right next to where you start, that I couldn't figure how to get into. But other than that - nothing. I didn't just skedaddle, I tried exploring before, during, and after the main missions were over.
I'm legit taken aback by how much loot I missed. I looked everywhere before I gave up and wanted to continue to the next mission. Are there any guides or videos where someone gets most of the loot?
I'm surprised that I actually care about this - loot isn't a big deal for me in missions, but I loved this mission, and I feel like I'm missing some major section or something that I would very much like to see.

For those wondering about the explosive device:
Where you found it there's also a half-bricked up window/doorway. Place the explosive device there and nail it with the fire arrow that can be found in the same area. That's a way to make an entrance. You don't need the explosive device for it though, a single fire arrow does the job.

Hi,
Is there a way to enter the alchemist's place right at the start? You can't pick the lock so I am guessing there is an alternate route in or you need to steal the key from someone.

Yes.
Underneath the entrance to the yard with the drunk, snoring guy there's a locked door you can pick. The location is some sort of prison where one of the cells has a hole in it. Go through that hole then take a right. Climb up the ladder and you'll be in the alchemist's shop.

Is there any way to get up this building, which has a partial open side window and front balcony, but I can't see anyway to jump or climb to them?

in your second picture, that definitely looks like wood on the windowsills.

You can use the pipes and chains leading from the barricade battlements to reach the first (leftmost) window in the 2nd picture. From there you can jump mantle to the statue, and from the statue you can run at a large angle to the 2nd open window to get inside.
