I really enjoyed this one. When the mission started I immediately checked my map. Based on the map I thought it would be a Bafford manor like small mission like in the original Thief Gold. When I had a walk around the exterior I noticed that the building is much bigger then I first thought it would be, so caution would be advised. Then I entered the parts where it was overgrown with vegetation and the mission immediately turned out to be a Constantine's mansion like nightmare. Very well made, kept my heart beating all the way to the end! I also liked the hidden small rooms which you can access with hidden switches, especially the one with the green wine bottle and the small plant growing from the puddle of wine next to the bottle. Nice flashback to original Thief Gold's cutscene.

When I was at that stage, I hadn't even found a whole ass area, so read carefuly: Second key is (general location)
in the garden area. Specifically
at the bottom.Inline Image:

I finally finished this one with a decent amount of found loot. The architectural details are lovely, countless nooks and crannies to explore, but by gameplay it was waaaay too confusing. In the end I spend much time wandering through the hallways and had luck because I found the two keys required for the treasury chamber rather by accident. If you miss one of these, builder have mercy to your poor soul endlessly wandering around. Definitely not for a beginner, Constantines Manor is nothing compared to this monstrosity.
Now I will head on through this amazing campaign. Let´s see what the next missions have in store.

I made a rookie mistake of going back into mission one and doing a quicksave before doing a hard save on mission two, so now I have to replay the 2nd one. The good thing is that I took a different approach and came across an area that I completely missed and found an item I was looking for. :thumb:

I'd appreciate it if someone could at least tell me if I'm in the right place or not. Is there another garden in this mission?

Depends on your view of what a garden is. If you’re looking for neat rows of carrots and cabbage then there isn’t. If you think along the lines of what a thiefy garden built by a madman deep within the bowels of a mansion might look like then yes there’s a garden.

The area in question is
inside the manor, directly south of where the bloodied note and key are found. You should see a large tree through the windows.

Finished on Expert with no hints. But it was close. I was really really hoping the secret "skeleton" key would do what I hoped... and it did! 61% loot, 1h29m.
This is a great, great mission. The atmosphere does a great job of slowly ramping up. It made the Pagans SCARY. I have played nowhere near all the missions ever made but this was one of the scariest non-undead maps I've ever played. It did a great job equating the feeling of playing "Escape" for the first time.
And the ending!
Thank you.
I'm not even gonna try to max this campaign on the initial playthrough... this is something that'll take 5 playthroughs to make sense of. :D

Indeed, I have come away from this mission thinking the same. And I have NOT found the second key or the
skeleton key and this is just becoming an exercise in frustration. Skip skip skip.
