wondering if there is a alt ending by doing something/getting something on an earlier level?

i feel bad, but im also kinda glad others are having the same problem (sorry)... i watched a couple youtubes of the people playing the mission and they had problems too.... after watching others do it i feel like i'm satisfied, it doesn't really look worth forcing myself thru...
i really like the end cutscene, tho... whoever you got to sing that song has some serious pipes... my teen crush was Chris Cornell and this guy's voice kinda reminded me of him... (which just makes me sad now)

For me this was the easiest mission, it was obvious from the start that you have to go up to get to Azaran, but the whole horror vibe of this mission was not for me.

I was very lucky with the final mission as well.
I ghosted the entire campaign on expert and spent a lot of time on each mission. I had to wait to finish the last mission due to life and took a total of 52 minutes.
I feel fortunate reading the comments now, because getting to the end was easy for me. But I did think it was going to be very difficult when I started, so this made the entire campaign that much more enjoyable. "not having a slog to finish" Please, someone figure out how to save Hume!
Thank You Feuillade Industries it was an amazing time

thats poor advice for this level, because
there is only one thing you need to do, and only one place you need to go (though having a key makes it a little more convenient), and only one way to get there—i wasted almost two hours "just keeping going" around and around looking for a way forward without finding one, all because i had not seen
the broken stair at the top of the eye room, just what the blank ceiling in the rest of that disorienting room, making it feel like a dead end.
Poor advice? No it's not. I didn't give out right spoilers, because no one asked for specifics. People get stuck all the time, keep going. You're stuck in a area, you've exhausted everything you can possibly do, or so you think. What stand around and pray for an answer? No, the most logical thing to do, is keep going. I shouldn't even have to say that. Nine times out of 10, you'll eventually find your answer. One more added word, like what Nic said, would have added more to what I said. And that is exactly what I did, one area, didn't have anything I needed, I found some keys, and I kept on going.

Oof that ending was brutal, I guess it was fitting, though it would be nice if there were some way to resurrect Hume in future missions
Excellent campaign, the horror aspects really creeped me out at times which basically means they were done really well, I'm becoming a wuss in my old age
So, thank you again for all the hard work, it was worth it

It is. It is useless advice. Useless advice is poor advice. Why even bother to answer "Do something" on a "What to do?" question?

Small request for anyone who has the FM with a save here- could you get me some screenshots of the inscriptions on the floor of the central hall of the tower? I'm on a mission to translate all the arcane runes in the game, but I realized I missed these ones.
edit: I went back and nabbed them. The devs are cheeky, I'll leave it at that; I don't know if there are more I missed somewhere.

Just finished this. Did Hume actually die though? I saw him sick, Victoria said she couldn't heal him, does that for sure mean he dies? The writing I found earlier said people with the brand would be "used up" in the ritual, and that the brand would eventually kill them, but I figure I interrupted that process, right? So Hume can survive, just weakened, partially crippled, for life, but could still make a half decent life perhaps?
Anyway, interesting final mission, and definitely reminiscent of The Maw, right down to the ritual getting messed up. I absolutely love that I got 100% loot for picking Azaran's pocket, LOL! I tried to kill off everything I could in the place, but wasn't able to destroy those big buggers.
Impressive final cutscene and song/credits, very well done, fitting, satisfying.
THANK YOU FOR THIS!!!

If this wasn't a worthy final mission in the style of the other Thief games I don't know what it is, absolutely spectacular.
I was afraid that you might have to visit the bodily humor rooms again to do something with the samples you got but luckily this wasn't the case, going up the tower is one thing but going down again without an elevator would have been very complicated.
Hume not being able to do anything about the brand is pretty cruel, all that effort for nothing and nobody even thanked him, what a sad way to go just because he trusted the wrong people. I really wish the ending wouldn't be such a downer.
Also, I still couldn't do anything with the big glyph in the bathroom of the manor, like in mission 5. Did I miss something?
