So I'm on top where
Azaran is. I put the necrotic ingredients into the altar, but every single time the game makes me commit suicide. What am I missing?
You must avoid
being seen by Azaran.

You know the note in which you read about them?
They're pretty much in the same room on a nearby table from what I remember. They have a unique model so they're hard to spot. Next to them is a scale I think on the same table.Haaaa, i`m running around for 3 hours(playtime) i don`t even know where i picked up the scroll.
I hope a direct spoiler can help me forward.
Thanks

I can't believe Hume died (or is he?), but it fits. He's an all-around bad guy who makes the same mistakes until he eventually runs into the brick wall that is Azaran. Hoping for more Hume, nevertheless!

if you are talking about the
Necrotic Ingredients, mentioned in the book describing a "
delicate alchemical balance", they are on
an alter in the room directly above the "room of eyes", the red-walled room with blinking eyes on the walls and strange beams running around below the ceiling. in one part of the room there is a broken stairway down from the ceiling that will let you reach the room above and continue.

Personally, I felt this mission was pretty weak compared to the others. Almost a victory-lap rather than a full level.
It's basically a straight dash to the closest key, pickpocket, then run up the stairs to the lab for the chemicals, then run to the ritual site and taint it, finished. I think a good way to get more out of this mission would be for you to have to collect the ingredients throughout the tower, which is what I thought would be the case when I found the various chambers with labels on them.
Where this one really shined was the "tech demo" aspect. The monsters, effects and other custom work was fantastic, and well beyond what I thought the Dark Engine could do.

Just finished the campaign and I would like to thank all those involved for their hard work over the years.
Like many others, I have been looking forward to this release for a long time. I was not disappointed.
Things I loved:
The architecture and atmosphere created.
The little inconsequential details to be found everywhere that made exploring an absolute pleasure, rather than just dashing around to complete objectives.
Playing on expert, I found it had the right level of difficulty - not a walk in the park and not frustratingly tough.
Things I wasn't so keen on:
Not much, but some of the maps could be a little bewildering. I wasn't able to form a strategy to ensure I'd explored the whole level.
The last level was a bit hit and miss. I would have liked to have been given more reason to explore. It is not a place you would hang around in for too long otherwise!
All in all though, huge fun and I shall definitely replay it a few times.
Thanks again, guys.

I misunderstood the note that mentioned Azaran's chosen disciples having the keys to disable the barrier and thought I had to collect all the keys.
Once I realized I only needed one, I finished the mission the same way I finished Thief Gold: by making a mad dash to the end of the mission.
I loved the creatures at the bottom of the map - I have no idea what to call them, though! Light-up beetle beasts?

On my second playthrough I noticed you can complete this mission entirely without any of the keys which is pretty neat! Kinda wished there was some form of acknowledgment or reward for it (unless I missed it) but it's nice that you can do it nonetheless.

I just used the artifacts and spent about 10 minutes drooling at the view. How I got to this mission without a hint and ghosting expert lol
Maybe a useless comment, considering where I am at this point of the mission. But the atmosphere really established how good this campaign is. A more constructive comment to come : )
