My eyes seem to prefer homogenous backgrounds when there are icons to be on there. Talk about selective eye condition. :D
On my linux desktop (no icons), I'm using this (
http://www.anodal.org:81/photos/main.php?g2_itemId=2376) pic without any mod. I'm too lazy and selfish to look for backgrounds made by other people.
