"RPS: So, Bard’s Tale IV. Is it a direct continuation of the story?

Fargo: When I did the comedy version, I didn’t have the rights to the original. Now, I’ve struck a deal with Electronic Arts, so I can do full-on sequels. It will pick up where they left off, though Mangar and Targen are dead. I’m not going to say you didn’t really kill them. But their cults live on, and the reasons for what they did will live on in the next story."

When the kickstarter ends every backer will get a copy of the (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/inxile/the-bards-tale-iv/posts/1257921) original BT 1,2, and 3 for free. And updated versions of the games, being done by The Bard’s Tale III programmer Rebecca "Burger" Heineman and her company Olde Sküül, will come later, for free as well.

Are they updating I/II/III (edit: hi I can read) or just emulating it like in Bard's Tale 2004? If you have BT04 on Steam, you already have the 3 original games as they were patched in later.

The best Bard's Tale game was Dragon Wars...wouldn't mind an updated version of that a'la what they did with Wasteland.

Edit: Welp, Win-native ports of the ][gs versions of the BT games? Time to re-pledge I think.
