Meh I don't watch cricket as much as I used to when I was younger (and could get TV reception properly! ) but if you want to have a go at fair weather fans let's look at Brits then. World cup 2003. Sydney was full of fair weather UK fans who had no idea about the rules of rugby even.
Clean up your own backyard first Paz.

This is a thread about cricket. Which you continue to defile with your divisive rubbish, when everyone else has managed to be intelligent and well-spoken.
Don't feel bad though, I know it's sometimes tough to tell what's going on when you have mental problems :(
Convict on 21/12/2006 at 15:02
Why do you even come out with saying that I have mental problems?:tsktsk:
Don't take your frustration over hair loss out onto me though. :nono:

This is just demeaning for both of us. And, frankly, it's mostly demeaning for me.
So let's keep it on the creegeet, as Boycott might say.

Yes, Paz, just calling you up on a series win, since the odd ODI or even test match win isn't that significant.
McGrath was fucked in one of the test he played last year too, so i wouldn't call his contribution significant, as he was out of two and a liability for one test.
Anyway we will struggle to replace 'em, but we have plenty of good bowlers, just not many great bowlers coming through. Thats where you might have the upper hand in future, but out batting is likely to remain strong.

McGrath has been a patchy asset, but an asset nonetheless. No, maybe it is about his time, but why Warne, why? Go out on a big note, sure, hell if Ponting's going to let anyone else bowl until Warne gets his 700th wicket. He'll be tough to replace, a notorious spinner has been part of the Aussie squad strategy since Warne came onto the test scene in '92. Monty can expect his Australian citizenship papers in the mail in the next week.

Maybe not for you guys, but that's what we had to cling to during the fallow years :(
Remember that we're a bit light ourselves on this tour - Vaughan, Trescothick and Jones are all missing, with Flintoff looking pretty unfit. That's like taking Ponting, Hayden and one of McGrath/Lee/Clarke out of your team. Shit happens though, you've just got to get on with it as best you can.
Do you have any upcoming super-spinners? Obviously Warne will be irreplaceable, but I assume you're looking beyond McGill (decent though he is).

I've never understood why people treat sport with so much reverence. It's justa bit of light entertainment. It makes zero difference to your life whether England won or lost this test series.
The English need not feel aggrieved because the Aussies can beat them at hitting a ball wth a stick, or the Brazilians thrash them at kicking a ball around a field.
Let's not forget that playing ball games is all those countries are good at, while England has been one of, if not the most, influential country in history, in a plethora of different areas, not only in their own right, but also in seeding many other countries.
Let's keep things in perspective.
The importance sport, and entertainment in general, is given in the modern world truly baffles me.
I'm not English BTW.

...if you don't get the importance of sport then stay out of the thread. Sport brings happiness and fulfilment to millions of people the world over. You obviously don't understand it, and surely nobody wants to hear you bleating about it.
